"I have the best horse in the whole world"

My guy is the best just because.

Because he always has at least one ear flicked toward me, rides sans tack without so much as batting an eye, schools at shows while keeping his cool, stealing snacks, giving kisses, trying until it hurts and when it hurts-continuing to try, and ALWAYS being a proverbial bright spot in my day.

He really is my soulmate and forever horse.

Dammit I love that Ginger

My horse is the best horse in the whole world because I started a thread like this months ago. And, also, because he is actually the best horse in the whole world.

Well, Slick- you’ve got them all in a frenzy…hahah!!

Mine is just not the best for anyone- really - he would probably kill you all in a heartbeat, not put up with your crap for a moment…but he surely loves me…listens to me and me only…and while others shudder at the thought of riding him- I truly adore him and he does adore me- so there…a love match made in heaven!!

its a very personal thing…like house-shoes, husbands and how you have your coffer or tea in the morning,…irreplacable, not comparable and unique! so there…bug off!

you are all so wrong…MY horse is the best because he loves me only me. He nickers when he sees me, comes when I call him. Licks my face and my kids faces daily. has soft lovey eyes whe being groomed. AND…Is a brilliant mover, dressage genius, tons of fun to hack and trailers like a champ. oh yes, and knock on wood he is 100% sound…and he is only 4 so we have many great days ahead…god willing!

My Spooky is definitely the best.

She is as wide as a picnic table, but still bends impossibly through trees on the trail to make sure I don’t get brushed off.

She is brave even when she is very scared. (She is pretty much always very scared).

When I ride her big trot bareback she steps carefully and slowly because I kind of suck at bareback and she doesn’t like it when I fall off.

She sighs politely when it takes me four hours to braid her long double mane for Hunters.

She always bends her head to ask for a rub on the forehead when she thinks she’s done a good job and she lets me hug her neck when I am sad.

She puts up with hours upon hours of circles while I work on my Dressage seat with an instructor and rewards me with moments of brilliance if I am perfect.

Mostly, she is the best because she doesn’t bolt anymore and she canters with a rider now!

Mine in the best because he talks to me. That is the truth.

Hello Donyx!

nicker

How are you doing today?

nicker

What shall we work on today?

nicker

That goes on until he is eating.

Truth. It is lovely, in that the pitch goes higher and lower, louder and softer.

I have never had one that talked to me like that. He did not do it either until I finally understood that it was me, not him, who was the source of all my riding frustrations. He knows all, it is my duty, and privledge to allow him to teach me. Now he talks to me too.

mine are the best horses and ponies
as they all good
and i am lucky they chose me

My mare might not be the best…
but she definitely should win for Most Improved

hit the nail on the head, here.

Although most of you probably can’t appreciate this at the moment, you will in time if you stick with horses until you are my age. ( nope, not gonna’ tell;)):

My horse(s)are the best because they make me feel young!

My youngster is the best because he’s just a good egg! I am grateful every day I work with him because it seems that we always progress, or at the very least, don’t regress! He seems to process things rather than react first/ask questions later. He remembers his lessons and nearly always improves on the time before. It is so cool

My Puppy (the one who was so sick this last winter) is the best because he’s a fighter…he’s my walking medical miracle and will be back in the show ring with me in a few more weeks. He’s a lovebug, an Energizer Bunny, and one heck of a show horse.

My oldest is the best because she knows she is  She was my first horse, purchased on a whim during college. She got me into Saddlebreds and has taught me every day since then how much more rewarding great success can be when you have literally fought tooth and nail to get to the top. She was a brilliant mover but couldn’t be counted on to keep her head together. When she was ā€œonā€, she was unbeatable. When she took her mental vacays during shows, she was downright dangerous. Brilliance and disaster, forever linked. That Reserve World Championship in 2006 was absolutely incredible…I will never forget how I felt and how proud I was of us getting through those classes TOGETHER.

And the mini donks are the best because they are SO DAMN CUTE!!!

Because he always gives me 110%, every day. And because he’s got the wackiest personality and he cracks me up!

Because he makes the cutest faces and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body - has been in rehab for four months and is still happy-go-lucky.

And, he has the most comfortable sitting trot.

My guy is quite simply the most HONEST horse I have ever met. He is impeccably kind, and incredibly honest. He has never once in his life said ā€œno.ā€ Certainly he’s said, ā€œI can’t,ā€" I don’t know how…" and sometimes even occasionally, ā€œhuh?ā€ But never NO.

Plus he’s just an incredible gentleman to handle 110% of the time. I trailer alone, show alone, and even breed alone. He is one in a million.

But the reason he’s the bestest of the best is because he’s the first pony I’ve brought from unbacked to almost-third-level all by myself. Which speaks volumes to his honesty and work ethic. We’ll get to at least PSG before he retires. If we don’t, it’s because of me, not him. He’d be GP by now with a better rider.

Cherry on top is his piaffe is to die for. SO fun.

My horse is definitely the best!

He is incredibly talented in many disciplines, and advanced riders dream of owning a horse like him. He is easy to ride and show, and kids take lessons on him.

He is a baby sitter, and will haul as company for a nervous horse. Best of all, he sires horses that win in dressage, hunters, jumpers, eventing, hunter breeding, and DSHB, out of Warmblood, TB, QH, Draft, Connemara, Ponies, Standardbred, and other mixed bred mares!

He is also able to be turned out over a single fence from mares and geldings, kids handle him, and he is easy to breed for live cover or to collect. If that is not enough, he also has excellent semen!

Mine is the best because she’s very smart, she keeps me on my toes, she makes me laugh.

Her barn name is Ferocious and every time I hear my trainer call her that, I crack up, because really, she’s not ferocious at all, just opinionated. Her second barn name is Barbie because… she could be the living model for Barbie’s Dream Pony.

Mine is the best because I have known him from the moment he drew his first breath. The relationship we share is like no other and comes from being there everday of his life—neither he or I are perfect but we have a very real understanding. He is the pony I always wanted when I was a kid and never had—riding/training has never held such rich rewards, he fills my eye and my heart.

My mare is the best because she has made riding fun again!

You’re all wrong…Mine is the best!

My horse is the best because he makes me laugh on a daily basis! He is not the fully trained dressage horse I always dreamed of, but his personality is worth his weight in gold! He’s sassy, yet a big chicken and tries to hide behind me when he spooks (not kidding!). He’s a 15 y.o. trapped in a 3 y.o.'s body…He looks to me for confidence. All of these factors make me a better rider because I have to do the right thing for him. He tries so hard and loves to work…

I could go on and on all day about why I love my horse…but I’ll stop now! It’s starting to sound like an Oscar award speech! (And I’d like to thank my mom…my dad…hahah)
