I love the sport

Yesterday I went to Gatcombe, their last autumn international. The day was glorious with bright sunshine and wispy clouds though there was a nip in the air first thing. I was in the company of friends who totally understand and love the sport. I met yet more friends casually throughout the day. The horses invariably looked magnificent, their coats gleaming with health and eyes bright with enthusiasm as they warmed up, did their dressage, show jumped, ran cross country. The fences were fair but required good judgement and riding - it was an Intermediate day - and the xc course was really interesting to walk and watch. The horses were having an excellent time, ears like arrows as they locked onto the flags. The backdrop of the Cotswolds landscape was the final icing on the cake. I love eventing.

Well blumming said.
One of mine was there yesterday, it’s a magnificent event and sums up why I love Eventing.

Sounds heavenly. That would be my idea of a perfect day.

Love this. Those are the kinds of days that make me burst with love for being alive and having the opportunity to participate in this sport

Me too. Thanks for your post, @Willesdon .

I was grooming and competing at Gatcombe. I chatted to Olympians, walked some of the course with Princess Anne, competed against the world No1 even though i am a crappy amateur. I cannot think of any other sport that offers that.
