I’m FjordBCRF’s horse…what should I get my mom for her birthday?

My moms birthday is coming up and I want to get her something special from me! What should I get her??

(Thanks in advance for anyone who chooses to play along :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

A massage! A supple rider is nicer to carry…

A fun new saddle pad.

Human treats of some type (since I assume your human buys you treats, nice to give them the treats for a change).

A new riding outfit.

A gift certificate for something they like doing when not taking care of you.

A solemn promise to require no surprise vet care beyond normally-scheduled vaccinations for the next 12 months.

You should totally get her a good box of high end chocolate and day in a spa. Throw in some wine and she should be super relaxed on your rides for a while.

Or maybe one of those fluffy sheepskin seat covers for winter riding. A frozen rider is no fun to carry either!

Ah, little buddy, you know what your mama wants: A new saddle pad in a fancy color that coordinates exquisitely with a new riding coat. Let her go hog wild!

A nicker when you first see her. A light nuzzling whenever she passes in front of you.

These are the gifts from the horses that have meant the most to me over the years.

A great ride on a happy, relaxed horse, a horsey hug and a nuzzle.

That is what my horse gave me on my birthday this week and it made my day!!!

Seems on all my birthdays the gift seems to be for the horse. My mom sends money and says " please buy something for yourself this time, not the horses".

How do I explain that a gift for them is like a gift for me??

People just do not understand it, do they?

If I get something for my horse it really is for me! After all the horse needs it to become a better ride that I can enjoy more.

Well it wasn’t ON my birthday, but in the two weeks time between our private lessons he’s REALLY put together what we’ve been working on. My trainer was so thrilled to see his progress between these lessons. So I’ll take that, happily!!

He also might have found a couple ariat vests on sale for me. He’s very good at using my credit card .

Haha! My mom starts my birthday shopping with “what does horsey need?” or sends me birthday money and says “buy something you like for the horse!” (Now-horseless lifelong rider, so she gets it).

That’s a better present than stuff anyway! Good job, pony!

Hopefully @clanter will chime in and tell the story of his horse who had her own credit card!

So sad, but such an amazing ask. Horses are just the best.
