I had a hip replacement last Thursday and of course am not allowed to drive yet. They don’t want any driving before the 2 week post-op visit.
Anyway, barnmate Outerbanks77 was nice enough to send me some pictures. I just need smell-o-vision.

Aww, nice to have a great barnmate during such times. I hope you heal quickly!
Follow all the rules, recover quickly and well, look forward to longer days, warmer weather and pain free riding.
I bet you do! Hugs and sympathy and well wishes!
Oh, look at that boopable nose and kissy face.
I know it’s tough but time goes by so quickly. Winter sucks, anyway. Let yourself heal and dream of spring. Sending you good vibes!
I know the feeling. Sometimes you just want a snuggle or even just to smell them. Think of how great your visit will be once you can make it out there!
I would miss her too! Sounds like your recovery is going well and you’re almost there. Two weeks will be here before you know it and then two months. Just a little longer.
Walk walk walk walk walk as soon and as much as you can, be diligent about PT, and you will be back on soon.
Yes, I really just want a big snort of her. My Dad always said my perfume was Eau de’ Corral.
My sister said she would take me out Sunday so I can take my board check. Hopefully, after my 2 week post op visit next Wednesday I can drive (it is my left leg). Fingers crossed anyway.
The girl that helps the BO is a good rider and hopefully by then, the ground is thawed out and I will get Julia to put her back to work a few days per week. Then she will be all ready to go when I can ride again.
Hoping your recovery is speedy and uneventful. Can someone maybe give you a ride to the barn so you can just hang out - as an observer of course.
My last horse passed in 2012 and I surely do miss that horsey barn-y smell.
Yes. I love seeing her bright little eyes…of course she is waiting for a treat but it is still nice to be wanted .
Hope you have a quick and uneventful recovery!
Hope you have a speedy recovery
I hope you recover quickly
Such a pretty girl. No wonder you miss her.
I think I am doing well. Can mostly dispense with the walker although I push it around a lot because I can pile stuff on it . Working to get off the narcotic pain pills so so I can drive after my 2 week visit. I am only taking one or two per day. I had to quit the NSAIDS because they were making my BP go skyward.
All in all I feel I am doing well. I had an anterior approach and boy howdy, my thigh has been unhappy. No incision pain just nerve pain and muscle pain from groin to knee. I have started getting out and walking outside as of yesterday. It is cold but trying to soak up a little sun.
Hope you get a nice visit today! Maybe you can bring home something horse-scented
If I’d gotten out there a little earlier yesterday I would have taken her for a spin, but got busy taking care of Adult Responsibilities.
No problem…heading out a little later .
I made it. Walked fine with the cane. Of course, I didn’t try and go in her stall. She was happy to see me (and the carrots I brought ). I got my snort of horse and she actually allowed a couple kisses. She is not a big fan of messing with her face but she allowed it today
.
When we had our horses, they were at home and I managed to be injured quite often (only once was horse related, and that wasn’t the horse’s fault at all). I would get very depressed at not being able to make it down to the corral to see them, so my husband would bring them up to the deck behind the house so I could visit with them. It made such a difference in how I felt.
