I need a narrow/thin thong for a lady

Horse Country has lovely stuff, but I have very very small hands. The thongs they have are too thick for me to have in my hand with a whip and reins, I can’t manage it all.

I need a very narrow thong, like what you might find on a christening whip, just longer.

Price not a problem, good quality needed.

Did you call the Middleburg Tack Exchange? Always try them first, before Horse Country. Usually a better selection and far better prices.

If they don’t have one, call Journeyman’s Saddlery. Slim should be able to make you one – just tell them what size you need it to be.

Damn, I thought we were talking about another kind of thong!

He makes them out of Kangaroo. They are a little thinner.

He is in the Netherlands but takes paypal and his prices are very reasonable for Kangaroo. (a little over $100 including shipping, depends on exchange rates) You can get any length you want. He does white and brown

I’m sure if you tell him the thickness you want he will make it. All his thongs are made to order.

Just email him at:

I don’t recommend googling Kangaroo Thong

Haha, good advice

Is it possible for you to move to a ladies whip with a thinner handle, so that you are more comfortable? I bought a whip made from holly wood, a slightly knobby wood that is sanded and oiled before turning it into a whip, it is nice and thin, probably 3/4" in diameter. I find mine very comfortable, because I too have small hands. I wouldn’t want to use it for a serious CTJ moment, so I ride with a jumping whip if I expect to need it for the horse rather than the hounds. Its ok for an occasional ‘whump’ for a horse sucking back at a fence though. Very light too, anytime I handle someone else’s whip I wonder how they ride with something sausage sized in their hands!

Mike Murphy whips, in Australia. Also kangaroo, also any color you’d like.
He will make any thickness you want. Very good prices, any length. His website is murphywhips.com.
I’ve purchased thongs and whips from him, incredible workmanship.

Thong maker found!!

He’s in Harrodsburg Ky and will make mine to order out of Kangaroo. I have a lovely whip, but after having gotten a ladies whip from HC, it has been determined that it is probably an old child’s whip.

I wear a size 5.5 glove when I can find them and they are not snug.

Size 5 boots.

Wish my jeans were!

suggestion!

I was going to recommend a childs thong definitely for small handed women. Also…childrens hunt whip handles come in varying sizes lengthwise but their commonality is their thickness. They are thinner than womens.
Just my humble observation!
Older, used thongs are always thinner too. New ones thin out after being well oiled and used a lot. Try to get a used one.

Oh…and there’s just no way we can talk about this subject without snickering! Well…I can’t anyway!!
