I ordered a Pixio (indoor/outdoor)wee hours of 11-28! Expected to arrive late 11-30!!

This deserves it’s own post! (posted in that other topic). I gave up and ordered the Pixio (the black indoor and outdoor model). Placed my order at about 1:00 a.m. on Nov 28th. It is expected to arrive by the end of the day TOMORROW (yippee ki-yay! yay! yay!!) from France by DHL. It has actually (no delays, no excuses, no chain yanking) left the facility and is in transit! I even have the tracking number so I can see where it is. This is for real, folks! I’m getting it for real!

I ordered the main base unit plus the wrist band. Cost me $686.76. Only caveat is that my current video camera won’t work so well; its too old. I am going to buy a new one (posted in OT and OC, hoping to get feedback). This will cost me an additional $350, or $750 if I go for the better model. I’m ok with that! Soloshot cost me a whole lot more $$$ than that in their delays. I needed it a year ago.

Here is a list of the supported cameras for the Move 'N See, Sony and Cannon: http://www.movensee.com/pixio-customer-care-center

Changed title because I bought the indoor/outdoor Pixio, not the outdoor only Move 'N See

I just checked and it’s on sale until Dec 4th for anyone that is interested!

Can’t wait to hear your reviews! Try to review it before Dec 4? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll try but that might be tough. My current camcorder isn’t on the list of compatible camcorders. It’s too old. Something about zoom not working I believe. I’ll see if it will work at all. I’m currently shopping for a new camera. Not excited about having to learn Move 'N See and brand new camera at same time.

YouTube has several Move 'N See videos of dressage and jumping. Some date back 2-3 or more years.

Please give us a detailed review and link to a video you create with it – whenever that may happen. I know there are already videos on YouTube, but I would like to see one made by someone like you who can comment to us on what did or did not work for riding.

I have a Soloshot2 and loved it so much that I preordered the Soloshot3 back in September of 2015. It has yet to arrive, but I am doing great with my SS2 until it arrives. Still, I am curious how the Pixio compares and if I should consider that instead of my two SSs.

Have fun with your Pixio!!

Well, I set up my Pixio for the first time today! It tracked me really well, and zoomed in and out. Unfortunately, I got lovely video of myself walking around the arena, but then accidentally turned off the camera. The robot tracked me the whole time I rode, but didn’t record. :frowning: Better luck tomorrow! I think its going to be really great!

Hahaha. I find that user error keeps me from getting a recording about 10% of the time. Usually it is because I have forgotten to return the SD card to the camera after watching it on my computer.

I’m anxious to hear more as well. I didn’t pre-order because of the open ended ship date (and glad I didn’t), and since STILL no one has received one, I’ve been eyeing the Pixio as a bday gift for myself. Anxious to hear a review of it!

My Move 'N See arrived early last Wednesday! Noon instead of end of day. I haven’t even had a chance to play with it yet. Need to get some work projects off my plate first, but it’s here! No phantom order, it is real! Hopefully my old camcorder works well enough to do even a minimal test.

I will be buying a new camera as soon as I have enough points on my credit card to get $200 in Amazon gift card. November I got $150, so I’m almost there! Then up to 10 days for gift card to arrive, darn it.

Hi! Can I ask which camera you have? I’m shopping for a new one. Was the Pixio set up easy and fast? How long did it take?

I do this too!! It’s so annoying isn’t it!

Is there ability to start/stop recording from the tag or whatever you wear to track, with the pixio?

C of Light, I bought the camera with the Pixio. I am (obviously), tech challenged, and did not want to end up with something that didn’t work. Its a Sony. Initial set up involved downloading software onto an SD card and loading it into the robot. It read and erased it, and now its the card I use in the camera.
Daily set up consists of putting the tripod out with the robot and camera on it (I put it at B), and 3 sensors on legs at A, C and E. They tell you where they need to be in relation to each other. Then you turn on the big clunky “watch” you are wearing, and within a few seconds, the robot starts following you.
You turn the camera on and off with the watch, too, so you can stop and start the recording. That is, if you remembered to turn the camera on… I am impressed with the quality of the video. A far cry from my iPhone!
Someone rode at my farm with a Move N See last year and had to wander around to set it up–none of that with this. This uses triangulation with the sensors, not GPS. So, I can use it in an indoor, too! Yay! (I sound like a saleswoman.)

DG123, Yeah, good idea to turn the camera on! I was using the wrong product name. I also bought the Pixio (black). For those of you who don’t know, it is usable both indoors and out. The Move 'N See (blue) is only usable outdoors. DG123, I just tried that camera (US model is CX455) yesterday at Best Buy. I really liked it. Then I tried the 4K CX33. I think I’m going with that one.

Yes, I really like how you can control the camera thru the watch while you’re still on your horse. I also bought the arm band, in case I don’t like the wrist band. The Pixio set up sounds like a snap! Is there any reason you didn’t put the camera at A or C? If it’s at B, isn’t the horse too close to the camera that it extends beyond the viewfinder and takes up the entire frame?

I’m just fed up with Soloshot. One year behind the schedule, and they explain (Facebook) that the indoor feature does not work !!!
“We have some R&D videos for indoor tracking right now, but that’s one of the things that our engineers are still optimizing on the firmware end. As soon as we get the code cleaned up, we’ll be sure to post better quality footage”
I ask the full refund and I order a PIXIO. End of the story.

I’ve had my Pixio for about a year now and just LOVE it! Best investment in my riding I’ve ever made. The customer service is AMAZING! I did something stupid that messed up the default for the camera zoom (all that I grasped about it was that suddenly my camera focused too close in and I was now headless in almost all shots), and the tech was back with me by email in 24 hours and soon had a solution.

I paired it with a 4K Sony camera and now I not only have great video to help me improve my riding, but the picture is so detailed I can also get decent stills for “photos”. PRICELESS!

Me too! Love my Pixio! I just dont get to use it too often this time of year - I am wary of having it set up in the outdoor and sitting in the roasting sun for an hour. I just feel like the equipment will get too hot. But aside from that, i LOVE it! I just have a cheap video camera, would love to upgrade it at some point.

I got my Pixio last November, but couldn’t use it very often because of the sub-zero temps we had (there were weeks we couldn’t ride even in the indoor and when we could, I was not in the mood to run around setting up beacons). In the spring, I was still at the stage where I would screw something up every time I used it, so I got very little useable video. Then I had trouble getting it to work outdoors, perhaps because I was setting the beacons beyond their limits (though I don’t really know), so I bought a SoloShot 3 for outdoor use and then my horse got an abscess and Lyme and I haven’t ridden at more than a walk since June so I haven’t even used it yet. I was really serious about getting regular video feedback, but the universe had other plans for me!
