I wish I hadn't seen this - turquoise paddock boots šŸ˜

I’ll admit it, I have a shoe problem. I have too many.

I was looking to see if I could find a used pair of black Justin lacers and I found they make them in turquoise. Oh No. I already have a pair in red, and I mean RED. I love them.

I have a pair in brown that I was going to dye black (eBay find) for show boots. I have somewhat rehabilitated my old Ariats with the (slightly) splitting soles and just got a bottle of royal blue dye for the brown boots.

I do not need more boots. I do not need more boots. I do not need more boots. I do not need more boots. I do not need more boots.

Are you SURE you don’t need more boots? It sounds like you do!

That’s what I said about the red pair!

I think I have 6 pairs floating around upstairs.

Ropers! They are really cool.boots but significantly heavier and more constructed than English paddock boots. Like Cowboy boot meets work boot.

So, I design closets for a living. My personal record for client shoe count was 2000 pairs. Now, that’s too many shoes.

But people like that pay for my horses to live a life of luxury.

I hope this makes you feel vindicated in your purchase.

Someone in my life who I shall not identify has more than 200 pairs of shoes. Seven pairs of boots pale in comparison. :upside_down_face:

You are not alone in your shoe problem. We should form a group.

Ok, you have 6 pairs of boots. But you don’t have turquoise boots.
(Buy the boots!)

And here I sit, thinking about my new pair of hiking boots, and wondering if conditioner will sufficiently darken them or if it’s going to make the colour more saturated. Do I condition them or dye them first… they’re purple.

The last pair I had stood up to three years of barn wear before I wore through the air pockets in the soles. They were great boots, which is the only reason I got the purple ones. They did have brown, but those weren’t waterproof.

It’s comforting to know that I am not the only woman who lives in hiking boots. Even in the summer, I wear them to the barn… and everywhere else. I have a collection, like a troop of little soldiers, lined up on the shelf in the garage next to my truck. Keen, Merrell and Timberland are my go-to brands.

I am going to wait on these…but I also wanted to let you guys know there were boots in fun colors. The last time anything other than black or brown was available was the red patent Ovations some years back (too small for my big feet.)

I have my eye on a couple cast iron hitching post heads so the boots will have to wait. Christmas isn’t that far off…

I saw the title, then I saw the boot, and my first thought was… back in the day we called these ropers.

Oh boy do I remember my ropers. I was so proud of those boots

I am a very staid person. Conservative in all things. But I can envision a world where I buy fun, coloured things to ride in.

Turquoise ropers are now on that list
