I won my first Ranch Sorting Event!

I am about 10 months into my western transformation from Hunter Jumper and I bought myself a really great horse… cutting bred older mare that is amazing and such a good teacher. We have been dabbling around in the sorting stuff, having a really great time.

I decided to take her to a little off site event, our first time off the property where I keep her. Somehow we won the whole darn thing! It was a random draw event, every level with about 75 teams total.

I was so surprised… but we have been working hard and going to a lot of practice events.

The best thing is I am having so much fun with my wonderful QH mare… she is so amazing and I am so lucky to have found this very fun sport!!

Congrats!! Yea, cow work is da bomb! I’ve done a little sorting, but am currently competining in reined cowhorse - LOVE playing with cows with my ponies!

Congrats!!! I’m in a similar boat, but pursuing wp/trail/horsemanship. Not many cows in my area, except on dinner plates.

What fun! and congratulations!

Congrats La Gringa! Was this a RSNC event?

Very cool!

I was watching the cutters the other day on RFD-TV and they just amaze me. Are you doing that at home? Or are you at a facility that has cows you can “use”? I’ve always wondered how that would work for people who don’t have cattle.
