Ideas for a stall name plate holder that is easy to change

Hi, I have always made my own stall name cards which have a photo of the horse, name, breeding and foaling date on it. I printed them out and had them laminated and thumbtacked them to the stall. But I tend to shift horses around from stall to stall and it gets a bit tedious to move the dumb things. The thumb tacks rust after a while and occasionally fall off.

So I am looking for some kind of holder that is at least 5 x 7 that I could slide the name card in and out. I have seen small ones but I like to have a photo of the horse’s face so my barn help doesn’t mix horses up, so I need something bigger than usual. I have looked for different kind of picture frames but have not found any that would be secure and also easy to change the cards out.

Anyone have any ideas?

If your stall fronts have metal, why not use a 5X7 acrylic/lucite fridge picture magnet? Like this:

You could use something like they have in office buildings for meeting room signs. They’re just acrylic frames you slide a piece of paper in. Some are fancier than others. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TPYSYD2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mwLUCbV4S11GR

or this nicer one, though it’s larger. I’m sure there are many styles.

I can’t seem to make links work (at least in preview) but they’re wall mounted acrylic sign frames/holders.

My stall fronts are wood with a small strip of metal where the bars start so I am not sure this will work but it is a good idea!

If they’re already laminated, could you screw a small clip to the front of the stall.

I just googled “wall mount sign holder”

I have the holders and engraved name plates made at our local pet/horse supply shop. My barn is metal but they also come with holes to affix them with screws. The name plates slide in and out of the holders. They come in various sizes and designs. You couldn’t have a pic affixed but you could add a laminated pic next to it.

I like @Christa P 's idea. Find a clip that attaches to the wall and then clip the laminated sign to it.

What about something like This?

Another option would be to use a chain on the cards and just hang them from the bars.

The clip that trub linked is a good idea, but even just a binder clip screwed to the stall wall would work.

You could also use magnets. Either on the metal strip where the bars start or attach a small metal sheet where you can stick your signs.

I need something I can screw to the wall as the aisle way is kind of a wind tunnel at times. I kind of like these: https://www.staples.com/Staples-Horizontal-Wall-Mount-Sign-Holder-7-x-5-17199/product_914426

I think you’ve designed your card just a bit bigger than standard size so you’re going to be fighting this issue for a long time, looking for holders that are tough to replace.

I recommend making the cards a bit smaller so they fit in a standard cheap metal stall card holder: https://www.statelinetack.com/item/s…saAgUdEALw_wcB

To allow the stall tags to be smaller, another thing you might do is a framed “who’s-who” poster that stays on the tackroom door or aisle wall, with a nice big picture of each horse and their name and maybe their quirks. Then the stall tags won’t have to have the pictures also, or the pics could be small - just for quick reference rather than primary ID

Or heck - the stall card holders are so cheap: use two. One for horse photo, one for written details.

Those magnetic sleeves are perfect if you have a metal surface to apply them to, or if wood, pin them there.

If you get the letter-print paper sized ones, you can have pictures, pedigree and instructions there.
