I barrel race some but I like my gear to be a bit more on the subtle, classier side.
To each their own.
I kind of take the position that people are free to choose their “look” and I’m free to not like it. It doesn’t make the horse run any faster or more accurately but it doesn’t make him slower or less accurate either. I don’t like that sort of stuff but I don’t mind much if others wear it.
What’s wrong with zebra and rhinestones?
Personally, I think my horse looks gorgeous in it.

Sure some of it’s tacky but some of it is really cool! For example I love Fallon’s look. Why not have some fun with your tack? Even if I don’t go all out I certainly won’t begrudge anyone for doing so. It’s not like it’s a hunter class. It’s not hurting anything.
I like some of the designs on the Showman stuff Zulily has. If it wasn’t all made in India crap with bad leather and cheap hardware I’d probably pick up a couple sets.
