If money was no object... which would grab your fancy @ Keeneland September?

Maybe I should change the “rules”… you only get to buy 5

At this age, so much potential and such a gamble if they live up to their breeding and looks/conformation/walk/etc. :)
I know. I’d end up with a lot of great looking geldings to hack.

Magnier is buying, (he just got the Tapit colt with Bridlewood farm for $2,000,000.) Sheikh Mohammed, not so much.

Of the top 10 pinhook prospects at Keeneland September 12-25, which would you spend your $ on (if you didn’t have to worry about how much it cost?)

Looks like the list is based on purchase price when they went through the ring as weanlings (all but one through the Keeneland November sales last November.)

And, IMO, many tasty morsels. A few Pioneerof the Nile’s, a Tapit, a few Tiznow’s… me? I’d be looking seriously at the Scat Daddy filly (hip 254) out of a Classic Strike mare just because it seems this summer the Scat Daddy’s have been running well and the line is lost :frowning:

And your fav doesn’t have to be on this list but thought it was a good start :).
You have good taste. $3,000,000

Although this filly (254) shows RNA but yes, a Scat Daddy colt for $3M

I just sit here and shake my head at the amount of money being spent on stallion past performance. But, no denying that Tapit has a history overall of good performers.

Next will be be interesting. Is there a way to make the “migration” from a hip # to actual name to see how they turn out?

The mare has a part in that price!

If money were no object, I’d buy some of the Includes:
1772 Include-Ontheqt by Mazel Trick

2203 Include-Psych by Mazel Trick

2830 Include-Dynashore by Dynaformer
and what the heck,

2700 Include-Try a Gator Girl by Copelan

2937 Include-Lake Lucy by Mazel Trick

4018 Include-Don’t Do Lunch by Montbrook

AAAAND a couple of Macho Unos:
1527 Macho Uno-With Intention by Mr. Greely

4039 Macho Uno-Feistee Deer by Running Stag

It’s key that money is no object because I never like the popular horses and I would probably not make any money as a pinhooker. But it is fun to dream.

Oh wait! What about all the Hat Tricks! Love the Lost Code!

I need more money in this fantasy. It’s starting to become an object.

3345 Hat Trick - Libertaire
3477 Hat Trick - Shy Greeting
3532 Hat Trick - True Deception
3824 Hat Trick - Patriotism

Oh yeah you can see the influence of the mare in the overall hammer price

Not all Tapit’s or Scat Daddy’s or War Front’s are going for the same price

I NEVER pick the horses that end up selling for huge amounts (except for the ones that are obviously going to sell high because of their breeding). My favorites usually go somewhere in the middle range price wise. No pinhooking for me even in my dreams. Good thing I’m only a fantasy player.

There are always some really lovely horses in the Keeneland fall sales and at Saratoga in August.

The November Breeding Stock sale is fun as well, though I’m not a great judge of weanling conformation. They do sell some well known race mares though and it’s fun to watch them sell.
