If you get a message saying you do not have permission to post...

… then your email address has not yet been validated.

When you registered, you should have gotten an email with a code in it that you need to enter to verify that the email address is valid.

If you did NOT do this, you will see this when you try to post:

[username], you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else’s post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Please check your spam folder to see if the email is in there. If not, you can request that it be sent again by going to this link:

and entering the email address that is CURRENTLY on your profile. If you’re not sure what that is, you can go to your User CP and check.

The verification email is titled “Action Required to Verify Membership for Chronicle Forums” and says:

Dear [username],

Since you have recently changed your email, we require that you verify your new email address. You will only need to visit the url once to have your account updated.

To complete reverification, please visit this url:

If you are still having problems verifying please contact a member of our support staff at autoreply@chronicleforums.com

All the best,

Just follow the instructions in the email, and that should turn your posting privileges on.

Now, if you request another verification email and it doesn’t show up and it’s not in your spam folder, then yes, go ahead and contact me for help. But please try it on your own AT LEAST TWICE first!

Erin,

I am in a huge dilemma. Comcast bought Adelphia, so my new email address is christolar@comcast.net

The problem is that I can’t remember my password either.

Without my password I can’t reset my correct email. Since my old email is no longer working (although they promised a full year of forwarding!) I can’t do the password recovery either.

I hate to lose my user name. Any chance you can help me if you have a few minutes sometime?

Sorry. I usually save my passwords to stuff, but can’t find it anywhere.

Thanks,

Chris Tolar
