Those are beautiful. They are the āpink marble dolphin next to my armor collectionā of my world. See, I watched a show about a guy who went from collecting cans for a living to collecting various treasures like these after he won the lottery.
Iād have my monogram carved into my CC saddle along with some other custom tooling. But I donāt think I could make enough money to justify that purchase. It would have to come from a crazy windfall.
But were that to happen, Iād buy that saddle, ride in it and let the tongues wag as they would. Iād do it in style.
Iām glad this thread prompted the discovery of that link because the first saddle is the worst of 4 worlds. Besides English and Western, add in Treeless and All-Purpose. Oy!
If memory serves, theyāre sort of an experiment in learning and trying something new.
Mr Parisot taught some folks from the TCAA a bit more about the older European leatherworking traditions (I think he is or was a saddlemaker for Samur), and then he went to the US and learned some more about the North American traditions. There are videos on the TCAA website about the results.
Those are beautiful! Thanks for pointing them outā¦ forget the $3,000 custom DK I was saving up for, Iāve got a new wish list
