If you need to restock on turnout blankets

Since winter is not over just yet:

Schneiders has their Dura-Tech Viking Euro turnouts on super sale right now - $49.99 for the 0g and the 100g, and the 220g is only $59.99. Looks like most of the sizes are still in stock as of right now.

I have no personal experience with them so I can’t promise they are amazing - but they are 1200D, and I’ve got a piranha pony that has already destroyed at least 3 of his friends’ blankets this winter, sooo… I just finished placing my own order.

I have 3 Schneiders turn-outs that I’ve had for 7+ years and 5 different horses wearing them. Depending on the weather, they wear them most of the time in the winter (here in TX, usually mid-40s and under) and they are pretty much out 24x7. I have Schneiders stable blankets on the RARE occasion that I keep them in overnight. My OTTBs are good with blankets but most DO roll in mud in them! They have been awesome and I wash them in the washer and hang to dry. I don’t know the specific model but after 7 years, there are internal lining seams ripping that I can hand repair. I love them. In fact, heading up to the barn right now to put them back on for the night and turn them out.

Weatherbetta is also having a good sale if you roll with that brand. Got an email yesterday.

Thank you. A lot. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :revolving_hearts:

Those Schneiders FIT the difficult to fit.

I have noticed that many horse supply outlets seem intent on clearing their warehouse, based on recent marketing emails. Like, this stuff has got to go, now, for whatever someone will pay for it.

I wonder if ‘stuff’ has been accumulating for a few years, and now, new designs & materials are on the horizon. But that’s just an uninformed random wild guess.

On second thought – every year in November, y’all remind me never to buy a new horse blanket for someone’s Christmas before the late winter blanket sales. Even if it is frozen at the time, and needed.

Guess who got the $300 Christmas present this year. Hint: Not a human.

(I don’t spend that much on Christmas presents for anyone. Except apparently a non-human.)

How is the fit on these? I’m tempted! My mare wears 78 in Rambo and Weatherbeeta, 81 in Amigo.

Re-reading I’m seeing you personally don’t have experience with them but I am hopeful someone else can chime in!

I’m all about sharing the good deals! I try not to buy blankets at full price, ever

I wish I could help! I have 3 horses that are the same general size (but slightly different shapes) so they are bound to work for at least one. With the pony around, I keep a lot of backup blankets!

As above, orders directly from the Weatherbeeta web site have blankets discounted up to 70 percent off list. Selection is not great in the mid 70 sizes as most are sold out, but I got a great deal on an 84.

Thanks! I checked this out but didn’t find anything in my sizing  The hunt continues!

The Dura Tech Vikings are okay. The velcro in the front isn’t the stickiest and I much prefer quick clips. But, that said, I may order one for one of the horses at the barn before I move my boy. I’ve sort of kept an eye on him the past few years.

I love the Stormshield and Challenger lines from Schneiders.

Chicks also had a great deal on a WB medium 1200 for $75.

I snagged one of the highly discussed Rambo Duos from Jeffers but I’m always tempted to keep options in stock.

Thanks for providing some hands on experience with these!

So far I’m impressed with the order turnaround time. I placed my order on Friday evening with the free “standard” shipping and it will be here tomorrow (Wednesday) via Fedex. I can’t even get stuff from Amazon that fast.

Looks like there’s limited sizes left in the med and 100g, but pretty much all sizes still available for the no fill.

I’m moving my horse next week and really wanted to get one of these Schneiders in a medium for his buddy we are leaving behind. But none in his size. Dang!

I can’t speak to the quality, but go poke around on the Jeffers site… Some of their house brand 1200Ds are on sale for a similar price.
