Why on earth do these TV people keep referring to Iliad as “ILL-ee-ADD”? If the horse was named after the poem by Homer (which alludes to the Trojan Horse), then that is pronounced “ILL-ee-ed” or “ILL-ee-ud.”
The way these people keep saying “ILL-ee-ADD” is just … weird. At least 2 years ago no one was saying “American Pha-RO-uh.”
What? I am confused here. perhaps dialect?
ToMAYtoe, toMAHtoe. maybe I wrong or … ?
But i didn’t see any races on tv.
