I'll Have Another sold to Japan

[QUOTE=halo;6392505]
Look at this horrible run down farm he’s going to. Despicable!!

Not reading most of the posts here. But I just had to LOL at the website.

I mean, you’d think that a farm rolling in the money, by the looks of the photos and what they’re willing to pay for IHA, would have been able to afford a decent web designer. It really hurts my eyes. It also makes me sad that they use iFrames.

Still not a fan of him being sold to Japan though.

No kidding. The website sucks.

The website looks like an amateur did it. Or the farm owner himself. But it looks cute, in a clunky way.

Well, I was bummed about the sale. I wish he had stayed in the US, but I think he’d get a better book of mares over there. I can’t really see the clamor in sending mares to a son of Flower Alley. He hadn’t exactly taken the world by storm, and despite what some of the more naive Facebook fans think, winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness while certainly an accomplishment, is certainly nothing rare. And I say this as a fan of the horse who’s been following him for a long time.

I’m more annoyed by the whole reaction to the sale than anything else. All the screaming and foot pounding and tantrum throwing on Facebook about how people think that Reddam is a greedy jerk and why oh why can’t he be like the Mosses. Well, yeah, and there was foot stomping and tantrum throwing about Zenyatta being bred back too. Gee people, you want those at the top who actually have the money to make the game run at the highest level to be more accommodating to fans and let them come visit the champions and feed 'em carrots (got to do that with I’ll Have Another a few weeks ago! :D) but nothing says you care more than calling them all greedy jerks.

Besides, the Mosses sold Cozi Rosie at auction and she was bought by someone in Japan.

besides that–

Besides that----the barn is drab and the grass looks shabby and needs cut. What about a little landscaping?
I mean, for all the $$$ they invested in IHA…

Great post!

You are in a very small minority. Most fans are only interested in the horses when they are racing, which is why they are upset when their favorite horse retires. But, once retired, 98% of racing fans look for the next racing star.

I am sure there are scores of incredible stallions for you to lay eyes on in Ky. How many times have you been there and gone to the stud farms? Have you seen IHA’s father or grandsire? They are both very nice horses (and were excewllent racehorses) and stand at farms who welcome visitors.

I just love the irony here.

Paul Reddam sells I’ll have Another to Japan because Kentucky doesn’t step up to the plate and make an offer that isn’t more lucrative than Big Red Farm.

This apparently makes him to people on Facebook, a greedy jerk who is only in it for the money and not thinking about the best interests of the horse and how he should be cursed to never have a good horse again.

Yet, Ahmed Zayat sells Bodemeister to Winstar Farms because they’re really really really hot to have him and being a multi-million dollar operation no doubt made a really lucrative offer.

Yet somehow, this makes him doing what’s best for his horse not his pocketbook.

Folks, you can’t make this stupid up? What are they smoking? Cause I could use some of that.

Well, IHA doesn’t fly out until August, so I gather that O’Neill welcomes people to come and visit him in the barn until then.

So here’s your last chance, peeps.

Agree with Dreamswept.

Yep, we go down to KY once a year or so and visit - it’s a favorite thing to do for the whole family. We tend to search out stallions who have some kind of connection to a horse we have or have had. My husband studies the farms and the way they operate for ideas. My daughter see’s the horses and jockey’s like celebrities :). Oh, and the time we met Edgar Prado’s VALET, you would have thought she met royalty! LOL Maybe we are minorities - but my neighbors are down there right now visiting the tracks and farms…she took a picture of her baby in front of Cigar and emailed it to me. So some of us really do love the horses for more than the actual game I guess.

Oh, and the day we got to CD and missed Mine that Bird and Rachel Alexandria by 20 minutes, we all almost cried.

Are You Serious???

I totally agree, he should stay in America where we don’t slaughter our racehorses!!
