RedmondDressage is that a feedlot in WA? I’d bet he’s an “older style” TB, great old breeding. I don’t see anything else in there. Happy day for him and good for you!

I looked up the other horse in the pic with Jango because I am one of those people who wants Lil Joes horse from Ponderosa. Pretty horse, long front toes.
He is cute. I bet he’ll be super no matter what you do with him. He does look like he’ll move nicely, and he’s got a nice, calm expression, especially when you consider where he is. Good luck!

His tail says tb to me. So does most of the rest of him. Bless you for this. He’s beautiful!!
If it is the kill pen/auction/dumping ground I’m thinking of in Central WA , it is VERY likely he is a TB. You can’t give them away right now here (anywhere?), and many are dumped there when owners and trainers can’t keep them running or have a place to lay them up, or simply can’t afford them. He doesn’t look like the typical QH you’d find in that area of the state, either. Unlikely that a friendly mixed breed family horse would end up there…
I like him! I too would say TB or Appendix. Either way he’s a good looking fellow! My Appendix has feathering just like his.

You know, I did think old school TB at first as he is very similar to the OTTB gelding my mom had back in the 80’s but I haven’t seen many built like that lately. He is from sunnyside here in WA. We’re super excited for him to get here. We’re going to give him a good bit of time to settle and then start him from scratch since we don’t know anything about him.
Angela Freda - we had our eye on the one behind him too. My SO was in love with him. I figured he’d go fast though, the flashy colored horses seem to go no problem most of the time. The plainer bays not so much

My AQHA/APHA gelding has the same feathers. My guess is all TB or Appendix. There just aren’t THAT many Morgan crosses around here and the head/neck don’t say Morgan to me.

My 17-year old QH-shaped TB gets “feathers” like that every winter, He’s maybe 15.1.
I’d check for a tattoo - you can look up on the Jockey Club site with a partial read including the first letter (for year born) and his markings. Mine wasn’t very cooperative so DH held his lip up while I took pics and we deciphered from those.

That horses markings are beyond flashy though, just… wow.
Whomever gets him better play nice with him, cause if he ends up back at a KP it’s not like he won’t be recognized.
But as I get older I am increasingly aware of the subtle beauty of a nicely conformed ‘plain’ horse. Yours is lovely. And I vote TB.

I’d vote TB as well. He’s conformed a bit like my TB mare, and she’s had feathers since I’ve owned her; I got her when she was 6.
Not all TBs are tattooed, either. So if he doesn’t have a tattoo that’s not a definitive no on his being a TB.
He’s very nice looking.
Maybe Morgan and TB? Welcome to the crazy club! During my teens, my three best horses were kill pen rescues. He looks lovely, regardless of what breed he is.

My first guess would be TB x something stock bred: QH, paint, appy…
When you get him home, it would be fun to send a sample to Texas A&M: they do equine “breed” testing. It’s not super specific, but it can give you an idea!
I immediatly thought Morgan X…but I see the old skool TB in him (we have a gray that is built like him)…it’s the short neck and stocky front end that scream morgan to me lol
