Immubiome?

Has anyone heard anything about this supplement line? They are the latest mushroom based supplements, claiming to help all sorts of horses. There isn’t much in the way of actual science on their website to back up the claims, but I thought I would see if anyone knew anything else.

Never heard of it. But here’s how I approach evaluating these types of things:

what are the ingredients
I google “{ingredient} pubmed horse”. If nothing shows up, I remove “horse” and see what studies are out there otherwise.

Usually it’s in mice, and sometimes people. So I look at the studies - multiples to see if there’s a consistent “this is interesting”, and if so, what dosages were used

I compare those dosages to what’s in the product.

MOST of the time, I find most studies are in non-humans (mostly mice), and often, at body weight relative doses a lot higher than what’s in the product.

Facts are, most “designer” ingredients don’t have equine studies. I’d be shocked if there are any studies of any mushrooms on horses of this nature.

There’s a reason there’s not much in the way of actual science on their site

Note: That doesn’t mean these products can’t still do something for some horses. Sometimes, even while there aren’t any credible studies on the individual ingredients, there’s a synergy of multiple ingredient interactions that’s bigger than the sum of the parts, and rarely as actual products put through real studies.

I see products that are marketing efforts much more than beneficial for horses. For example, “their” description of how their digestive products of nucleotides benefit the gut is B.S. You’d appreciate the same result from feeding a higher protein feed. Nice picture, though. They provide zero evidence of how their produce enhances tight junction between epithelial cells, although they make a nice pitch (see leaky gut on their site).

I’m a PhD physiologist and I hate how these companies market their products. To me, it’s like shampoo companies who claim to “split the atom” in giving your hair moisture. Unless they can prove their claims, B.S. The horse industry can be a lucrative industry to make money in if you can package your product right.

Well that’s not necessarily true about just giving them some protein for gut dysbiosis otherwise there would not be a problem with this among all mammals including the cattle industry and humans. Immubiome is a boutique company. They have several vets all over the world recommending their products because of the gut dysbiosis problems performance horses get. They only sell to vets or directly to customers that usually have a consultation with them. The owners of the company have been working with the gut microbiome across all species for 30 years and his partner has been working with horses and mushrooms for about the same time.Joined together they came up with something pretty special. Addressing Gut Health with the following ingredients: Colostrum+Nucleotides+Probiotics+Boulardii+specific mushrooms There is a ton of research papers as well as their own published trial at UC Davis ( in Dairy Cows) which the major response was increasing the levels of Essential Amino Acids and Non-Essential Amino acids in the blood. The mode of action: improving the “ Gut Barrier ‘’ getting better absorption of nutrients in the blood.
Their customer service is the best in the business and you can really tell they care about the horses not about making money with cheap synthetics from china. If you call, one of the founders will answer your question personally and guide you to the best formula for your horse.

So you joined just to give us a sales pitch?

Can you link to the studies about your company that you mention here?

Otherwise coming on with an alter like this makes me trust your company even less.

As stated in the previous posts your science seems bogus so unless that’s solid, no one who is science literate will be interested.

There are a million supplements with no real research out there. Before I waste time talking to a company I want to know:

Is this supplement being marketed for a real ailment or an imaginary one?

If it’s real, does my horse actually have it?

Does this ingredient actually help with this ailment?

Is there enough of that ingredient in the supplement to make a difference?

I want to get verified information on each of these before i talk to any salesperson and get a hard sell.

”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹If there’s no information available I’m not going to call anyone.

On horses? If there are a ton, I should be able to easily find them. I can’t.

as well as their own published trial at UC Davis ( in Dairy Cows)

You know that single stomach animals can have very different digestive processes, and issues, than ruminants, yes?

Some of us have looked for the studies and can’t find them. You’re making a claim there are tons out there. Help us out with even a few links.

In other words, they sell to anyone who will pay for their product.

If you cannot provide a citation for that paper, at least an author’s name or other information to facilitate a search would be helpful.

If the prices displayed on their website are any reflection, they certainly do care about making money…

I can understand why you all would be skeptical, but I have actually tried their products on my horse. My horse is a different horse (in a good way) because of their products. My horse has shivers and all over body tension/muscle fatigue and soreness, as well as a compromised immune system. I put my gelding on the Spine & Nerve and Immune products, I can promise you the products work. My horse is going better than ever, and certain dressage movements (half pass, rein back, canter transitions that were very difficult for him to do a few weeks ago, he is now excelling in and performing comfortably. My trainer and I noticed a HUGE difference within a week of starting.

The only change was adding Immubiome.

Lots of upper level folks in the showjumping and dressage world are on the Lean Muscle product, which i’m going to try next. Heard amazing things from folks at my barn about that one too.

Note: I have zero ties/don’t get any gains from this  I’m purely a happy customer! I have tried a zillion other products, body work, therapies etc to treat his issues, Immubiome is the only one that has helped as much as it has. Just try it, I think you’ll see a difference!

The grammar kinda sucks, too.
