Has anyone ever heard of the Imperial Saddlery brand? It appears to be older but well made.
Thanks!
I believe that the Imperial mark on a saddle, denotes the level of quality in a Tex Tan brand name saddle. The Imperial was a higher end, better leather quality, than the Hereford stamped saddles from Tex Tan.
I have always liked Tex Tan saddles, and with care, they easily will last 30yrs of hard work. I have one with the Hereford stamp, it is from about 1972?, still soft as a glove, puts you in the middle of the seat and lets you ride correctly. Has probably 100,000 fun riding miles on it! Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit any of my Sporthorses with the HUGE shoulders, but I can’t part with it. Might have a Western horse again some time!
