Importing costs...

I paid total of about $11,000 for gelding to go from Germany to Miami. This included quarantine, transport and about $2000 for vetting in Germany. He was transported to Klatte’s in Germany and then flew from Luxembourg on Cargolux. This was during WEF so flights were full from Amsterdam. Klatte coordinates with Dutta for the US side and they did a great job. My 4 yr. old flew with 11 other horses and was in the container with “frequent flyers.” They kept me informed of when he arrived. Was in quarantine for 2 1/2 days and BrookLedge brought him to my farm for another $250.

I just paid $7800 for a gelding from 5 hours north of London to NY. By virtue of vans to Dover and ferry to Calais and then on to Amsterdam and then flight to NY.

That included everything and I used Equijet and Newburgh for Quarantine.

Very happy and received updates daily and cell phone pics as he was settled in to each new place.

Yeah, I don’t know why you’d even think of importing from Canada versus Europe in the same breath as far as expenses :). Horses cross the Canadian/US border all the time for clinics, shows, camping, import either way. Except for whatever duties or certificates you need to get, it’s just the cost of the haul. No airplanes, no quarantine
