I just purchased a 10 month old Lusitano filly!
She passed her PPE last week and will be hauling from Alberta to Minnesota this weekend (pending finalized schedule from the hauler and no weather delays). Just squeaking in before these tariffs start up in April.
Super excited, but also nervous. I’ve been around youngsters when I was younger (my Aunt bred QHs), though it’s been a while.
I’m not sure if she’ll keep the flaxen mane and tail or if it’s entirely foal flaxen. Either way I love chestnuts.
She was bred by Paradise Lusitanos and is out of their palomino mare, Athena, and by their stallion, Napeiro Interagro. Sire is smoky black with grey and she has two older full siblings (one palomino and one is a double dilute).
Obviously, it’ll be a long while before she’s under saddle, but I’m planning on doing dressage and maybe some low level eventing with her. Possibly, even some working equitation. Plenty of time to see what she’ll enjoy doing.
