I too am reading all of this for the first time. I am so sorry I did not know about it from the beginning so I could have had 2 years to be happy for Dux…I am however, so happy for the two wonderful years he had with Tazer.
Yes, he certainly got his dignity back. He seemed so grateful…as though he knew he was in good hands again.

I, too, did not see the original thread and was so saddened when I realized that 2 years had passed and now this wonderful horse was not with Tazer anymore. What a beautiful story ; this boy finally got the retirement he deserved after doing so much for so many riders. I have the privilege of being a caretaker for an older horse; he didn’t take well to retirement and I have the wonderful job of riding him every day. At 27, he still has lots to teach and I value every ride I have on him!
Ditto!! Started reading this thread last night and it´s an amazing story and also a very very sad one. Makes me never wanna sell a horse ever…well done Tazer!!
BUT just want to share another much happier story that makes you believe in humanity again… a friends daughter works at Christian Ahlmanns stables (german toprider if you don´t know his name) and Cöster his olympic mount is enjoying his retirement in a field at the farm together with two shetland ponies and is still the king!

They called him ‘Thunder’? Any funny stories to share about him during those days? I’m sure Tazer would love to hear 'em,… and I know I would. He was such a special, smart, opinionated horse.

So sorry for your loss! This thread really peaked my interest 2 years ago because we had a November Rain in our barn in Fl@Wef about 4-5 years ago and it turned out to be him! I was horrified at his situation and then so elated when Tazer got him. I have a 20 year old jumper who will never be with anyone but me no matter what I have to do. I hope and pray he has many more years. I am so happy that TM was able to live happy and healthy with you!!!
