I’m wondering what the average indoor board price is right now.
Everything has gone up in price (hay, shavings, grain, etc) and it seems the only way barns are making it work are charging a lot or by cutting corners and working their butt off.
I’m in Ontario btw
Chicago land its anywhere from 450 for bare bones to mid-low 4 figures.
What does indoor board refer to? Places with an indoor arena, or stall board?
I’m in Calgary and indoor board with indoor arena(s) is averaging $1200 to $1800 per month plus lessons, etc. super high end, think you’re training with an Olympian etc is $4,000 per month (including lessons, pro rides, grooming)
I paid about $1600 Inc e lessons a week, a year ago when I had a horse still….now I’m taking 2 lessons a week on a school horse, and I pay $465 Canadian)
Anywhere within an hour or so of the GTA you’re looking at minimum $1k for basic indoor board at a decent (eg safe and actually feeds enough) facility, up to around $4k for show barns.
$1350 here in Los Angeles, plus $100 for premium hay and $1600 for training/lessons.
Assuming “indoor board” is stall board…
$900ish for the basics at a plain boarding barn with arenas - stall, feed/hay/grain, cleaning, turn in and out.
Over $1k for the same at a place with a trainer, usually not including the required lessons/training.
$1400-$1600 for training board, usually not including a la carte grooming/tacking/treadmill or holding fees.
$3k+ for a fancy show barn, usually some rides or lessons and grooming are included in that, but there’s a show requirement.
This is NC, same for GA, though there’s a lot more options in the middle there in GA.
Ya, I was thinking of indoor board as a stall with a indoor arena, and coach on site like a show barn.
I should of stated that in my first post as it does make a difference in price.
Thank you all for the responses!
