Inexpensive Bell Boots?

I tend to go through a lot of bell boots for my boys. I am wondering if anyone has a good source for inexpensive bells. I don’t like the pull-on boots. I’m not coordinated enough to use them. :yum: Since they go through them rather quickly, I prefer cheap.

Chicks had several for under $10 a pair. I’ve been using the cheap double velcro ones for the last couple years. They last several months worn 24/7 out on pasture.

One of mine wears these. The sewing on the Velcro goes before anything else does.

Thanks!!

Mine tears the Velcro, but I take them to an Amish nylon shop and get them fixed for a couple of dollars.

If you can find someone with a heavy duty sewing machine it’s pretty easy the replace the Velcro.

Good idea, thanks. :grinning:

I recently switched to these https://www.doversaddlery.com/ds-pvc-hookloop-bell-boots/p/X1-041893/

My favorites are Davis but I can’t stomach shelling out $50 for bell boots and they’re going out of business anyway. The Dover ones aren’t phenomenal or anything but they seem to last about 2 months for my horse (who is pretty hard on bell boots). And there’s a hot pink option

I’ve done the Dover ones too. I have a few in a lovely shade of brown. ( :face_vomiting:). It’s easier for me to find cheap ones since I have ponies with little feet. BigD’s has some that aren’t super expensive either. I think ~$15.

My bell boot destroyer did well for years with Davis until they closed down production. I’d get about two months of 24/7 wearing out of them. I’ve finally settled of the $29.95 black rubber LeMieux brand after trying some less expensive brands that failed the two month test. Finding XXL’s in stock has been the drawback, just like I encountered with Davis. You didn’t quantify inexpensive so LeMieux may be out of your price range.

Thanks, all. I have a big 17.2 boy, and when I buy XL, they are too small. So size is also an issue. Do they have size charts?? One place I looked said to check sizes, yet they had no chart. One man’s XL is another’s XXL! :yum:

I recently purchased a pair of Shires Arma from Chicks Saddlery. I haven’t put them on yet, but I like the way the velcro attachment is designed. It seems like it will hold up well. I love my Davis boots, but like everyone else they are going out of business and I just can’t spend that kind of money anymore.

Thanks! And they actually have a size chart! Awesome. I’ll measure mine so I know if these will fit the big boy.

Another vote for the ARMA’s!
