Does anyone know about the automatic entry in a drawing for $1,000 in gifts with the purchase of any ticket for the World Cup LV? Does anybody know what the drawing is really offering?

I got a call today saying that I had won a free upgrade to a VIP seat. The man was very nice, said that they had drawn 5 names and I was one of them. He asked if I was going to the event by myself (I had bought my ticket singly). I told him I was going with my barn and he offered to exchange the one VIP seat for tickets for me and few friends for all the VIP events.
I thought it might be a scam at first, but he didn’t ask for any money or identifying information. He knew what seat I had been assigned and was really nice about the whole thing.
I’m pretty excited… it ought to be fun to hang out in the fancy section for a while

I know, it’s crazy… I haven’t stopped smiling since I got the call! My mom said it’s a sign that things are starting to look up for me. I feel really grateful and lucky

I think Wednesday - Friday - just wear what you wear. The VIP seats are the front row seats. Saturday Freestyle - bling up a bit. Some dress to the teeth. Some wear their horsey best.
My friend and I splurged for VIP seats this year. We are so excited. Maybe we will see you there.
SO - WHAT DO YOU WEAR? If you do dress up? Mr. CF is raggin on me to go shopping…haha…if you knew me, you would know that I deplore shopping and that I probably should…however…I don’t like to spend time doing that…I have a horse farm. Irony at its best!
Dress slacks or nice jeans jeans, nice top, vest or jacket and some bling will see you through…wear what you want. You ain’t out to impress anyone…just see some great riding.
Or…get there, look around and see what you like and buy something in Vegas…there’s great shopping if Mr. CF wants you to shop!
First Day report
Well, I got my first taste of VIP land yesterday, and I have to say I like it Here is my report as promised!
I went to the warm-up class for show-jumping, and was wearing my pass around my neck when I drove in. They waved me past the normal parking and I got to park in a VIP area right by the front door. That was a nice surprise!
Then when I went in they had a lounge area open for us. It had free food (a complete breakfast buffet, really nice food) and a bar. I think the drinks were free, also, but didn’t try to get anything at the time.
The warm-up class was good. The riders each had 90 seconds to do whatever they wanted in the ring. There was simple course set up… about 4’3" from the looks of it. They could jump the jumps in any order, and could jump a given jump multiple times, but if they had a fence down they couldn’t re-jump it.
Most riders jumped around, but a few just hacked. McClain didn’t even take Saphire in at all. I figure she probably knows her job by now. Up Chiqui had a couple of rails down and looked tired. I hope they get better over time. It was really fun to see all the European horses and the great riders.
There aren’t a ton of vendors, but they have really nice stuff. Lots of beautiful clothes that I can’t possibly afford, some tack and saddle vendors, some other horse things. I didn’t get a chance to go through the whole thing because I was spending my $200 gift certificate before the official merchandise got picked over.
The official merch is nice but on the expensive side (as expected). The t-shirts are $25-35, the ball caps are $25, and the sweatshirts are $55 and up. I got a sweatshirt, a jacket ($125) and three key chains ($8 each). They said that they didn’t have as much inventory as previous years, so I wanted to spend my money early.
Later that night we went to the Draw party at the MGM grand. It was fun. It was mostly riders, owners, and officials. We didn’t really know anyone, but it was fun to watch everybody. Rich Fellers drew the first slot for tonight. Most of the other Americans got pretty good positions. They had passed hor douvers (sp???) and free drinks at the party.
Tonight is the first round of the actual competition. It should be really fun. I’ll try to report back along the way. My hotel doesn’t have wireless, so I’m having to go to a coffee shop to post, but I’ll do my best!
