Initial thumbs up on the Tredstep Symphony 3 Rosa breeches

I got a pair after seeing one of our working students with them. So far, I’ve had one dressage lesson on a fairly humid afternoon in them. I really like the sock calf, both cool and comfortable. The pockets are functional and there is an interior button as well as the hooks at the waist. The full seats feel reasonable as far as stickyness. The legs are a smidge on the tight side (but I have hugely muscular legs for my size). The waistband fits very well, mid-rise with no gap (and I’m definitely curvy). And a very good price point at $140. I also bought a pair of the Romfh International, but haven’t tried them yet. They are $15 cheaper, but have velcro instead of the sock leg which I would consider a minus.

I recently got the knee patch version - I really like them. Definitely a little more friendly for the curvier frame, and I love the design of the calf. I had been wearing mostly Tailored Sportsman Trophy Hunters (side zip) lately, but the price on these is much more budget-friendly! So a thumbs-up from me, as well.

I’m curious to see how you think the Romfhs compare. I’ve been eying the Treadsteps, but I know I get a lot of gaping the waistband of my Romfhs (I think they’re the Lexington model).

I bought two pairs of the Tredstep Symphony (guys version) for Mr. VERY picky PM and he quite likes them.

I have both and like the Treadsteps better. I will say that intially the Treadsteps were a bit tight in parts of the leg but they did break in and are more comfortable. I have a pair I show in and a blue pair I use for schooling.

I had also tried the Smartpak brand…which LOOK great but don’t fit right.

Still…my favorites are the Pikeur.

I’ve been “test riding” lately in a pair of the Treadsteps full seats since I was looking for good, fairly inexpensive schooling breeches now that I’m retired and can ride regularly. So far I’ve been very happy with them. They feel good with just the right amount of stretch, I also like the pockets, and they seem to wash up well. I’m planning to buy two more pairs so I will have enough to rotate through, plus maybe one to hold onto for if I make it to a schooling show this year.

I love love love mine. I have a pair for showing and a darker pair for clinics/lessons with fancy dressage coach. I am also a bit curvy although slighter build and have the gap problem frequently. I do wear a belt with these so it looks really “finished” and keeps a snug shirt well tucked in, but it’s for looks only. The fit is great and they wash well.

Thank you bornfree! Also, thanks for mentioning the smartpak brand, the look lovely but it sounds like I’m better off trying the treadsteps, and/or keeping my eye out for pikeurs on sale.

Sorry for hijacking your thread op.

No worries, I’m always happy to hear about breeches in general. I’ll post my report on the Romfhs here in the next day or two. I like pikeurs, but actually love Ariats. I just wish they wouldn’t quit making the ones I like best. I also seem to have a hard time finding the full seat Ariats in tack shops to try on. Best luck usually down in Florida in the winter. The pikeurs have the advantage that they mostly fit.
