Your image comes up as forbidden for me.
I’m not sure how to fix that but if you click on the link and when it comes up with the note about forbidden, click next to the last character in the browser address bar and then hit enter and it should come up. Let me know if that works or if anyone knows how to fix it please advise.
I didn’t get the error message when using Firefox but I did with Google Chrome.
It worked with your recommendation.
It’s not Silla Argentino but Sella Argentino, that mean Argentinian saddle horse, no connection to the Silla studbook (Mexico)
Note that 3 out of 4 grand parent are SF.
I am not as well versed as Andy in SF. In fact, the only name I recognize on the pedigree is Ibrahim who was the sire of the quite important Alme.
With that said, I also own a mare imported from Argentina, who is also registered there. According to her papers, she is registered with Silla Argentino not Sella. I put a scan of it in my photobucket:

Also interesting, I tried to look up the registry online as I have in the past, and I cannot seem to find their website anymore?
I have the website as: http://www.aafomentoequino.com.ar/
The link for the site in english has been down for the past couple of days. I used Silla Argentino as that is what is written on their website as well as what has been written in all correspondence that I’ve had with the registry (who has been most helpful)
We have imported several horses from Argentina and their registration papers are definitely Silla Argentino, although Andy is right that they are not connected to the Silla Studbook in Mexico.
Your mare was bred by Haras Henry Jota

We have offspring by the same stallion and love them.
Faraway 46 on this board is very knowledgeable about Argentina bred horses and always helpful.
Good luck with your mare!
My mistake, in Spanish silla means saddle, I thought it was sella…

Not a problem at all. Just about everything I know about this mare has come from the internet. And I’ve been trying to figure out her correct name for 3 years and Silla Argentino was all I had for the majority of that time.
The breed here is Silla Argentino.
I can’t access the photo but send me her registered name and I’ll get you any info you need.
Thanks! I changed the link so hopefully it’s viewable now. Her name is Henry Jota Venus. I found her pedigree online but I’m not familiar with these bloodlines.
Peter Atkins’ horse HJ Hampton (Henny) is from the same breeder and we leased one for DD a few years ago. When I was doing research on DD’s horse I emailed the breeder with his tatoo numbers (on either side of his tail)and he responded back very quickly which horse we had.
Looks like they have a great program and produce some very lovely horses - mostly bred to be jumpers I believe. They have a huge auction each year for all of their 3 (?) year olds - supposed to be a pretty big event in Argentina.
We had a couple by Carapalida - turned out to be really nice hunters. Lots of SF blood as was pointed out early and older french blood at that. Looks like out of the dam of Venus, you had HJ Trinidad sold in '92, HJ Brother in '93, HJ Briolloso sold to Italy in '96, HJ Frambuesa sold in '99 and Venus in '00. Looks like she might have been sold here in Argentina.
SA is the breed in Argentina but it’s heavily influenced by all the European bloodlines - you’ll find a lot of SF, Holsteiner, etc.
Happy Almost Birthday to your girl, turning 15 on September 28th
HJ has a lot of nice horses and yes, they do an annual auction in December every year of their 3 YOs. There are quite a few other auctions as well from great breeders like Tatabra, Baral, Llavaneras, etc. In fact, one of the breeding farms, Haras Windcrest is having a liquidation next month (they’ve decided to stop breeding) and there are some AMAZING prospects they’re selling. We’ll be there shopping.
As NYCJumper said, Henry Jota farm has mostly Selle Francais in their breeding.
HJ Carapalida’s get is really good. I have followed his offspring and they are usually very athletic, with good structure and great temperament. Lately, they reach top prices at auctions, since many are doing very well in the Young Jumper Championships.
If I can recall correctly, HJ Carapalida was a top grand prix horse ridden by Martinez Zuviria years ago.
I have to say his offspring are very consistent. Congrats!
Thank you all for your help! My mare is very athletic, has a big step, a phenomenal jump, and very nice flat kneed hunter movement.
She has prior experience in eventing and jumpers although I got her to do the hunters with. I think some of her previous training made the transition tough - I wish I was able to get her at a younger age. She is the sweetest horse and has the nicest temperament though.
I think she would be an asset as a broodmare but I’m not equipped to breed her at this time. So for now she dabbles in some lower level dressage and is as happy as can be.
Again thank you all. I’m glad that I was able to find out more information about her.
