Insta hot.. But not?

Anyone use something similar to an Instahot, but that doesn’t come with the horse price tag? I don’t need it to be portable but would love to find a barn-safe way to get hot water in my barn.

If the Instahot is worth the price, I could be convinced but it seems like there are many similar options online for things like camping. Would love to hear from others’ experiences

Thanks all.

I used to use a couple of plug in hot water kettles to get enough warm water for a hot toweling or a hot soaking. I was also known to drag 2 5 gallon containers of hot water from home to the barn.

Yep, I’m dragging from the house right now. It’s not the worst but if there’s something more convenient, I’m all about it!

Honestly its worth the money. I don’t use mine a ton but I am VERY happy to have it when I want it. We even have hot water in the barn that I could fill buckets with but being able to properly hose him in the shoulder seasons when its chilly is a blessing. I’ve had mine for at least 8 years and its held up great so the money isn’t that much when you think of it that way.

Amazon sells several types of small electric water heaters that plug into a 110v outlet and you can attached a hose to. https://www.amazon.com/Camplux-Electric-Water-Heater-2-5-Gallon/dp/B0789DTY5L. This way you do not need the propane tank and you can take it with you for horse shows if they have electricity.

Be aware that the water heater like linked by @PonyPenny is actually a small tank water heater, not an instantaneous unit. 6.8GPH is not a lot of hot water production. Though I admit it only gives me a recovery rate for a 90degF temperature rise so that number is probably a little better for say a 70deg rise, but still not 2 gallons per minute or such which is what the typical faucet flows.

I have an 8 gallon Ariston/Bosch electric water heater and I love it.
It was 6 years old last winter when it stopped working, and I figured the heating element was shot, but it turned out I just needed to hit the obscurely-placed reset button, and it’s still chugging along fine.

This one seems to get great reviews online. Any feedback on something like this?

Ghazzu, I’ll google that right now!
