I have a brand new Hawk coming soon and would like to upgrade the flooring to something nicer than the carpet it comes with. It’s a gooseneck with an extended dressing room, wired for electric and heat/AC already installed, so we plan to install some cabinets for storage and a mattress to make a very basic living quarters. We are in Ohio, so temperatures vary from 0-ish in winter to 90+ in summer. Has anyone installed similar flooring in their trailer exposed to these kinds of temperature variations? Suggestions as to type, brand, etc?
That stuff is “indestructible”. It will be great for the purpose you are considering. It’s easy to put down, we have it in our tackroom. Environmental temperatures will not bother it, heat or cold. Excellent choice, and it will look good too.
Congrats on the new Hawk! I didn’t go so far as installed flooring in mine, but did find an indoor/outdoor rug for my dressing room that I quite liked. I found one whose care instructions allowed me to hang it over the fence and blast it with the hose, and so far I’m quite pleased.
Just FYI in case you find yourself looking for a plan B.
If you are on FB, there is a Horse Trailer Conversion group that focuses on dressing room/LQ remodels. Lots of good info there. And pictures. Pictures always help! Congrats on the new trailer. I got a new 3H GN last year and am compiling my own list of ideas to jazz up the dressing room too.
