This is super helpful. I’d never heard of Berne, but after the reviews here and checking them out online (they even come in ladies TALL??) I’m going to give the bib idea a try. THANK YOU all
I tried a couple pairs of women’s bibs and they fit funny - too big in the hips and the bib part was, um, not flattering. I have the heavy Walls in a medium and they’ve lasted for years - they do get softer with wear. My original pair were Dickies, I think, and much thinner and softer. I definitely prefer the bibs because with a medium jacket thrown over them, they’re much more forgiving when it comes to working-sweating-unzipping-rezipping-working-etc.

That’s what I have–in “raisinberry” no less–love’em![/QUOTE]
Me too! They’re soft enough to move around and even ride in. I like the zipper bottoms, they’re easy to put on and they fit well.
Carhartts will soften to a manageable amount if you wash them a few times and use fabric softener on them. And after a year of hard use, they will be VERY comfortable.
Of the women’s brands I’ve tried, the Bernes have been my favorite as far as warmth and durability. I have the raspberry ones too
I love my carharrts, and being short fit into a children’s size 16 at 1/2 the cost!!
