Insulated Coveralls for WOMEN??

I’m trying to prepare for winter early this year, and I need a new pair of insulated coveralls. My current set is a men’s size medium (Wall’s brand). They’re OK, but they’re definitely cut for men, and they’re very stiff. I don’t like Carhartt for that same reason – too stiff to be comfy doing chores and definitely not good for riding. But they are WARM!!

Years ago, I found a pair of Wall’s that were a softer material and they were GREAT. I wore them out and can’t find them anymore.

I did see those “Glamoralls” online but I’m hesitant to try them-- I need durability even more than fit and I’ve never seen these in person.

Any suggestions for something cut for women that isn’t flimsy, and is super warm, and not that hard cardboard material??

I’ve been pretty happy with Carhartt gear, and they do make things for the ladies.

Hubby got me an electric jacket one year for Christmas. LOVE LOVE it!!
Only lasts about 2 hours on “high” and they don’t make a women’s version, but the battery pack is nice and small and easy to charge.

Tractor Supply carries several different brands.

I use ski-bib overalls and find the ones made of nylon with some sort of finish that feels like cotton are quite durable and very warm. I especially like the elastic in the shoulder straps. Might not be as durable as Carhartts, but at $25 a pair, I
can afford to buy a couple pair to get through the winters.

Carhartt–definitely the best.

I had a pair of my husbands old walls blizzard coveralls. Not overly thick, but very warm. They were already broken in and I just kept patching them as I wore them out. The glamouralls are a one piece suit and I find those too inhibiting ( almost binding) when doing chores or riding.

I have a set of insulated coveralls from Berne apparel that my dad picked up for me at an industrial laundry. They are much softer than carharrts but I’m not sure if they make them in women’s sizes.

I have a few sets from Tractor Supply. I forgot the brand but it’s not Carhartt. They’re awesome though!

I have these in Raspberry:

love them. live in them in the winter.

FYI, my GlamourAlls are holding up well.

i tried the glamoralls and returned them immediately-- tried them on and they gave me a total wedgie just from walking around my house. And I’m a pretty standard Medium-- have never had a problem getting sizes that fit.
When I emailed them to let them know I’d be returning, I mentioned the weird fit and she said “Oh, we get that complaint a lot.”
I’ve given up on finding women’s coveralls-- they only make bib overalls for women. So for years and years I wore a boy’s large coveralls but they finally wore out. Decided to try bib overalls, and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it’s a two-step affair to get suited up to go feed horses, vs just slipping into coveralls. But on the plus side, they actually FIT. And if I’m working in the barn on a cold day, I can build up enough heat that I often shed the coat, even on single digit days.

Anyway, I’d encourage you to give the bib overalls a try. I resisted it for a long time but now wish I’d just made the switch years ago., rather than wade around in boy’s clothing.

I think I’ve seen ski bibs, and maybe coveralls, from Patagonia, North Face or LL Bean. Totally get what you’re saying about the Carharts. The ones I have are very stiff (10 years old) and very heavy too.

I wind up with a snow jacket and snow pants, since I can’t find a one piece that’s comfortable and in my size.

Berne

[Berne has ladies sizes and they come in a variety of colors like pink and purple.
I think also walls or walsh is another brand with ladies gear.

Walls has the hunting insulated bib coveralls for women. Add a jacket and you would be all set.

Love my Bernes.

I donated my insulated Berne coverall bibs, because they were so stiff and hard to walk in, especially in snow, that it was making my joints hurt. I bought a pair of heavy duty ski pants this summer off of ebay, and they’re much easier to walk in. My DD has worn the same pair of ski bibs for chores for the last 3 winters, and they’ve held up fine.

That’s what I have–in “raisinberry” no less–love’em!

Carhartt for women. I know they’re stiff - but you just have to tough it out until they soften and become saviors to your winter soul. (I wear mine anytime it is below 48. Can you tell I HATE cold? )

Think of it as dealing with the annoying potty training process in order to have an awesome dog.
