In trailer shopping, I’ve come across some trailers that are “fully insulated” and others where just the walls or ceiling is insulated. Thoughts on the pros or cons of insulation in a trailer? I would think it would make it quieter, but does it trap heat inside too much? Or keep things cooler?
I honestly cannot think of any cons, except for cost, with fully insulating a trailer. It makes the trailer quieter, keeps it cooler in the heat and warmer in the cold, should eliminate condensation in a dressing room, and make it easier to heat and cool if a living quarters. I personally would not have an enclosed trailer without the insulation. I don’t think there would be much benefit to it in a stock trailer.
If it had a LQ floor insulation is important in cold weather. No LQ not important.
The only con I can think of is the cost too. If you can swing it, I would get it. It makes the trailer much quieter and cooler, which becomes invaluable when you are stuck in traffic or are forced to park in full sun in the middle of the summer. My old stock trailer that was just a big metal box on wheels - that thing was like an oven when the trailer was not moving at a sufficient speed.
