Recommendations for effective insulin supplements for a very picky eater. My insulin resistant mare won’t touch Insulin Wise.
There is a product called Resvantage, which is a capsule. It smells like peppermint. Mine don’t like peppermint so I had poor luck w it. It would also roll out of their mouths when it was buried in a treat. I am now using Metabarol pellets w success. Insulin levels are great. One will eat it out of my hand; the other requires a tablespoon of so of Equine Sr to eat it out of my hand. If you try the Metabarol pellets, don’t buy from Chewy. It’s packed in an automated plant in the wrong size box so always arrived open (unless they fixed it after all my complaints). I always asked for a replacement which also came opened. It took five phone calls and a very nice supervisor who told me to buy it elsewhere for that reason. Keep the container tightly closed to prevent degradation of the resveratrol compound. Hope this is helpful to you.
Thank you!
Heiro is what a veterinarian recommended to me. It contains fenugreek, which is tasty to horses, and my horse (not particularly picky, I admit) ate it without a problem. But it is not pellets, more of a brown mealy powder (not especially dusty, though).

I will definitely look into this, thank you!
