Insurance for clubs/GMOs

I have been tasked with developing a set of questions clubs/GMOs should ask/have addressed when getting insurance. All suggestions and ideas welcome! I will be calling my agent but I know the hive mind is deeper and broader in experience. Thanks all!

What type of clubs? I work in commercial insurance and could offer some advice.

What is the purpose of the club? What activites? How many members, and how many “events”?

Thanks @Jealoushe For some reason I only just saw your post. These are Group Member Organizations of USDF. All sorts of sizes, all sorts of events - every club is different. So what they want me to develop is some general guidelines and questions they should ask. One big question recently is whether volunteers at shows are covered by the club insurance - they may or may not be members.

The club would normally cover the volunteers, but that would be arranged when the policy is being underwritten.

Some questions I would be asking if I was going to quote this risk:

Full legal name and address
Entity - ie individual, corporation, Limited company, numbered company, non-profit?
How many years has it been operational
How many members
Age range of the members
What are the operations of the group? (Just meetings? Events? Clinics? Education etc)
Do the members carry their own Liability insurance?
Does this group fall under the main branch of USDFs insurance?
Are there bylaws?
Is there a board of directors?
Do they carry or require Directors and officers insurance?
Clinics/events - how many in attendance? Are members charged? Do host sites provide proof of insurance for the property liability?
Any previous losses?
Financials may be required.
How many volunteers are usually working?

I’ll come back if I can think of any more!
