Insurance

been a while since i’ve insured a horse … what companies are people going with nowadays that have competitive rates and are decent to deal with? also, those that work with upper end in age bracket of horses (IE - 16-18) … i know some cut off at 18, some 20

i have a few offhand that i know off and have done some research, but just want to see what other people know of

thank you!

Have been with them for years. Excellent personalized customer service.

Coverage options have changed over the years. Rhonda always found something that fit with coverage & cost. And has given claims advice as well.

I would recommend finding a broker that’s familiar with the offerings from multiple underwriters. They can help you navigate your situation. I used Central Virginia Equine and had a great experience, there are others that have been recommended in past threads if you do some searching.

FWIW when I was shopping last year several companies had age capped around 15-16. If your horses are older you may find insurance doesn’t make sense depending on how much coverage you were hoping for.

do you have a general contact number for them by chance?

I had quite a few years of great service with Jen Oliver at CVI. She will do everything she can to help you.
