Int. Bromont. Driving

  1. Anyone going?

ETA : I’ve found the schedule and all the tests!!! (with diagrams!!!)

  1. Is there a National show going on at the same time?
I only found references to the FEI tests so far.
    1B
    3
    B HP1 - HP2 - HP4

  2. Is there a website, like FoxVillage for dressage, that list competitors, classes, time and results?

I decided to scribe with Belgian 4* judge Mark Wentein.

  1. Should have I picked President of ground jury Anne-Marie Turbé (Fr) or Martha Hanks Nicoll (USA)?

I’m usually paired with the Pgj at dressage shows but I picked Mr Wentein based on the fact that he brought his horse inside a bar in Bruges… and so seemed like someone interesting to meet.

  1. Are scribes needed with their judges in any other part of the show?

  2. Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

thanks for volunteering! yes there will be national levels as well - Training-Int.

I have no idea about the judges, although in the past there’s only one ring and everyone drives their test there. I’ve had two judges at Prelim so I think you get to see everyone.

I suspect the cones judge has a scribe but I don’t know who they have do that. It’s an awesome event! I am navigating for a friend this year. You’ll probably get a ride, but it’s a long way from the main grounds to the dressage ring.

I will be there with our British Riding Pony Pair. This is their first year competing and we are in the Prelim Pair Pony DIvision. Our dressage time is at 4:40 on friday

And thank you for helping out with the show!! My parents are coming with us as well and they are going to be helping out each of the days as well. But they have 0 horse experience so they do the timing, ball setting etc.

This will be the only show going on at the grounds this weekend. We actually leave tonight and will arrive there tomorrow. Most riding people do not like us driving people around so they dont schedule anything else.

I have the dressage list and times but it wont let me post it here. Its a jpeg file. If you want, you can PM me today and I can email it to you if you would like to see it.

I think you picked a good one. I am sure he will be very interesting, give great commentary and teach you new ways to look at things! Being 4* rated he knows a lot! You can learn much from any of the very good Judges at such competitions. They each have a different viewpoint, things they want to see done, which can help you be a better driver, judge, evaluator when you look at yourself and others. Any of those 3 are bound to teach things to you.

We have a couple local people going. They are looking forward to competing!

I just had the schedule and there is indeed only one ring for the +30 rides.

It goes from 8:30 to 17:30 on Friday.

I suspect the cones judge has a scribe but I don’t know who they have do that.

We’ll see if I can do that too.

What do you mean by that?

I hope we’ll get a chance to say Hi! and I wish you the best for this competition with your friend.

I think it’s going to be quite fun and interesting.

Oh! I know your ponies! I’ve seen them at the Royal and a friend of mine had a gorgeous one that she sadly sold.

Can’t wait to see your pair of beautiful ponies! Congrats and I wish you the best for their first year at that level.

And thank you for helping out with the show!! My parents are coming with us as well and they are going to be helping out each of the days as well. But they have 0 horse experience so they do the timing, ball setting etc.

I’m sure everyone will be happy to have them helping.

I’ll be there Wednesday night as well as I’m having dinner with some of the crew and the judges.

I’ll be there for the jog too and at the Welcoming Thursday « party ».

We’ll probably get a chance to meet.

I got everything I need now. Schedule and all the tests. But thanks a lot.

I do/did a lot of CDIs and been with many really interesting 4* and 5* judges so far. I’ve learned a lot and I’m sure I will learn a lot this weekend about all these classes.

I usually pick the President of the jury because I like to sit at C for the big classes or when there is more than 1 ring going.

But this is a one ring show so I’ll get to see all the rides!

I meant that I doubt they would make a volunteer hike all the way up to the dressage ring! People use golf carts and ATVs and you can drive your car from the main area to the dressage. But if you choose to walk, it will take you 5-10 minutes.

Oh. Well, I usually drive close by to where I have to scribe.

Since the show is on 3 days and yes, I’ll be able to use a cart, I’ll have no problem getting to-from the main area.

I’m not sure where everything will took place but I’ll figure all out when I’ll get there since I know the showgrounds well.

Let me just start by saying how impressed I am with the quality of competitors!

I’ve learned so much scribing for Marc Wentein.

And the marathon!!! Wowza!!! Even better!!!
The two 4 in pair … I’m not sure I understand how they could squeeze all these horses through such small obstacles! hahaha

Your ponies were really nice!

Can’t wait to see the cones tomorrow.

@alibi_18 - Thank you! We were very happy with them. Little things to work on but we have been so pleased on how far they have come in such a short time!
