Interest in Ladies foxhunting clinic weekend

Au contraire, WG - Some of us need to exercise so we have the legs to stay on our mounts after a long run and don’t embarrass ourselves in front of our new HP friends!!!

that’s what the martingale strap (or mane) is for…who needs legs when a good death grip will hold you in the saddle! LOL

BigBayTb, Dahlink,

We are desolate or dissolute ( always get those words mixed up) without you too! We have to plan the Fall meet around your schedule. Do talk to those nice people with the huge trailer about joining us, please?

We will be drinking the infamous limoncello elixir in your honor, toasting you, at the current spring meet. But seeing you on skype for a toast is a poor substitute for you in real life!:eek:

You are an excellent comrade-in crime. I miss you, Dahlink!

:retires to the loveseat in the barn aisle way, too overcome with emotion to carry on…::cry::winkgrin::lol:[/QUOTE]

Daaallinnggg: do not fret (sips limoncello), I vill get there (evil grin, right eyebrow arches, taps glass with finger) I have my vays…

I have asked “those with the big rig” and will find out…but, as you know me, I always have many plans (sips limoncello)…I always have plans (evil grin) .

bwaahaahaaaa

Wahoo Wah! BigBayTb has been busy!

I just heard the most wonderful news!

:lowers voice to a whisper:

BigBayTb has talked to her friends with the big rig and they want to come for a Fall coth hunt!!! And BBTb’s trainer and foxhunting friend -in-crime wants to come, too! There will be 4 horses making the trip from Indiana!

I guess we will just have to make arrangements for more cothers to join us. We will work on that hunt meeting after we conclude this one. One set of tiaras at a time…

I’m gone for a day and return to discover we’ve gone Hollywood! I’ll have to practice my red carpet walk.
We’ll have plenty of time to plan the fall hunt on those late, hot summer nights, with our laptops and magaritas.
Hunter’s Rest Will have a steady stream of CotHers going through her home!

My immense charms are immense, dahling. Rarely horizontal, mind you, and unfortunately not attractive, but immense nonetheless. Thankfully, boys will be boys, and are thus easy to influence.

(sniff, faints, strangles self again with her pearls, coughs, chokes, recovers)

:: gently removes pearls from wateryglen’s neck and tosses them to whicker for safe-keeping, whispering ::

Someone needs remedial cotillion.

CarrieK, DahlinK!

CarrieK,

I’m overwhelmed!

The fashion plate of the remedial cotillion should be one of the logos for the Hunting Princess Party!:lol::lol:

It is priceless!

It is so kind of you to model all of our regalia in one picture. I adore the fur throw on the chaise…

The major difference in real life, is that the fur throw is alive and on an active 7 month old, 90 lb, alaskan malamute puppy. He does love to help if one feels faint…:lol:

The pearls in the plate are long enough to be useful as a hunting whip thong…

Only the best for the coth hunting princesses!:lol:

Someone stole my ENTIRE lifelong look.

Pearls!

YUP!! I think we have a poster child!!!

Hunting Princess poster child at the remedial cotillion!!! Yaaaayyy!!

Pearls as a whip lash?!!:eek:

Y’all please take lots of pictures!

And give us a full report.

I’m giving up recreational internet use for Lent, so I won’t see y’all till Easter. But this is the first thread I’ll look up when I come back!

Paint Misbehaving, Oh No!

Paint Misbehaving,
You CAN’T give us up for Lent!
What will we do without you? You are important to us! It will be April when you come back. That’s long after the close of the season.

We are just coming up on the best part of this epic. I, personally, want to share it sooner than that with you.

Please reconsider…
How about chocolate instead???

The guys here at work brought me a huge cinnamon roll for “Fat Tuesday”. It’s now gone. Only problem with me and Fat Tuesday… I don’t give up anything for Lent.

Give up chocolate?! Are you mad, woman???

Well, it was actually either giving up recreational internet use or giving up alcohol. And I’m working on seasoning my own pink sparkly flask for the fall COTH meet at Hunters Rest.

But it’s nice to know I’ll be missed. Thanks, whicker.

The grass is turning green

Latest spring news to share, there is hope!
We have had our share of March monsoon rains and gale force winds recently. The last round started at 60F and sunny, ended with snow and 20F in about 24 hours. Then back up to the 50’s… Our average temp for this time of year is 50F. It’s just how it gets there that makes it soo interesting.

Today it was dry enough that Ruby and I could go across the fields and up the trails to the ridge of the small mountain in our neighborhood. You could hear the sound of water over little rapids and waterfalls before you got near them. They are easy to ford so far up the water shed.

I saw owls, turkey and deer out and about. No skunks or racoons this trip. Ruby sees them far ahead of me and gently lets me know that we need to stop a moment to give them right of way.

The daffodils are starting to bloom in the clearings on the south side of the mountain. Back before the Spanish Flu epidemic, around 1918, there were little farms dotted along the mountain. My son, Brad, loves archeology, so we have stopped along our rides to let him read the tombstones and look at the abandoned homesteads.

The song birds are showing up, checking out nesting spots and staking territories. These are just the front runners. The big migrations haven’t been obvious to me yet.

All the horses are seriously shedding. I can’t stand down wind and groom. Thank goodness for the horse vacuum cleaner! In the pastures, the first green grass is covered in patches of horse hair from the rolling.

The sun is warm, even on the cold days.
The best part, though, is Daylight savings time starts this coming Sunday! We will have extra light for the coth weekend…

P’aint misbehavin, is checking on the great CotH spring hunt really recreational? I think it’s probably a necessity. But perhaps one of us can send you a printout via snail mail, if you truly must step away from the keyboard.

Whicker, I love your description of the countryside. Daffodils are still a long ways off here, but I do have one snowdrop, and a couple of crocuses are starting to push through the cover. The birds have switched over to their spring songs, and the squirrels are chasing each other around with romance on their minds.

I am seriously envious of the horse vacuum! I’ve been grooming the pony outdoors and trying to stand upwind.

Practice your rowing

It is raining again. There is a flood watch, again. ODH doesn’t go if the ground is saturated. With this round, the rivers we normally ford are too deep and fast, too. Let’s hope that we get lots of sun, soon!

Yesterday, it was 40F and the forscythia was working up to blooming. The vulture contingent was convening in the trees, starting to migrate northward. There were skunks hanging out on the edge of the woods, considering if they should go back to a warm place for awhile. It is beautiful here even when the rain heavy clouds catch on the mountains…

Guess we better glue some rhinestones to our wellies.

Fog, gloom and soaking rain here today too. I’m so glad I got a ride in at lunch before it started. So is my poor horse who is now limited to the so-called “dry lot” until the paddock dries and grows some grass.

A little searching and you can find something to be cheerful about:

Now if Mother Nature will stay on her predicted track, we should be good for the 19th!!

Thanks Jawa!
I really appreciate your ray of sunshine over the next week through the coth weekend. The 60F part sounds pretty nice, too!
