Interesting braided headstall and reins available on shopgoodwill

Looks like it is beautifully made. The bid is already quite high for items on this site.

It’s very nice. Guess the current bidder REALLY wants it!

If the rawhide is hand braided, it’s probably worth a lot more than that!

Is it just reins?

I also think it’s worth more than the current bid. And Hillsboro, OR is close to me!

mvp, hard to tell, but it looks like a headstall in there too. Sorta toward the front. Ears at left, nose at right.

You can message the Goodwill Store on that listing and ask questions. I’ve done it often since I learned about shop goodwill.com on Coth. Most of the people at goodwill are not horse people, so you should ask them about horse items.

Or call the store and ask them.

I’ve always gotten prompt answers from them, within a day or so, but with the weekend here, you might want to call the store instead of message them. Make sure you give them the item # when you call.

If you think this tack is bid up high, look at some of the Chanel items that go up into the 300-500 range. I bought a beautiful burberry shearling vest for several hundred dollars, and it’s worth much more and is beautiful.

That would appear to be a pretty amazing set of romel reins, no doubt hand made.

The silver is definitely hand made. Only thing that keeps this set from being in the $500 category is the number of strands in the braid. As wall art alone, it is worth the price and more.

Looks like it was even “lovelier” once upon a time ! Special for sure !

Lovely !

regardless of condition or age ~ something special for sure !

The style looks way more like peruvian tack than any western braided work I’ve seen.

One thing to watch on ShopGoodwill–shipping! Some of them are astronomical. I’ve started not bidding, unless it REALLY is unusual, on anything from San Diego County as they spend a fortune to ship and don’t offer less expensive options.

I would definitely call the seller on that one to ask what the leather feels like…

I was watching this braided bridle but I bid on this:

I did not beat the 301.00 top bid though.
Then I see this on ebay:

Oh well, I guess I missed out on making a profit this time. It is fun to watch for hidden treasures though.
