International Equestrian Festival!

Want an amazing day in KY? Go to the World Equestrian Games and see one of the awesome events going on, visit all the exciting booths and do a little shopping. Then, take the Lextran bus that is right outside of the main gate to the Lexington Convention Center, or just ask for the International Equestrian Festival.

IEF is filled with tons of booths of awesome things! You can casually walk around to look at all sorts of exciting things from the ultimate sports bra’s for riders, to clinics with intriguing trainers in the round pen. HRTV is live and all around. And Pat Day is there to sign autographs!

It is a really exicting venue that, IMHO, has items that are more fairly priced then at WEG. Plus, not a lot of people have heard about it yet (because WEG will not let them advertise) so it is no where near as crowded as WEG! And last, but not least: it is only $5 to get in!

At the end of the day you can easily hop back on the Lextran bus which will take you back to the horse park. From there you can take a shuttle to where your car is parked or a bus back to your hotel. The Lextran is conveniently only a dollar each way!

If you have some questions you may also PM me. I am not affiliated with WEG or IEF. I just volunteer at WEG and have visited IEF.

We didn’t even have to pay to get in. The person taking the money had some sort of free passes that they let us use. There were also free passes at one of the restaurants where we ate.

My trainer, the dyed in the wool, never look back ASB saddleseat trainer, has discovered WEG and the IEF and gave the IEF a big thumbs up. I’m just irked that I couldn’t get any time off from work to go and really enjoy it!

The place was dead when I was there. If you go, stick your hand in the weird waxed footing. They are using it in the round pen and the vendor is over along the right wall.
