I installed the new Explorer and now I cannot scroll down with the mouse wheel on COTH. It’s only on this website as other are fine. Can this be fixed?
The problem is in the banner (or more likely the frames used to display the banner.)
Use this link: http://chronicleforums.com/Forum/index.php to only display the forums themselves (the lower frame) and it should get rid of the issue.
OH thank you
Thanks from me, too!
Ever since I updated to IE 7, I’ve had the same problem on the Chronicle BB, and nowhere else. It’s been driving me nuts (though at least I had gotten over thinking there was something wrong with my mouse settings, etc.)
Hopefully someone will figure out how to fix this or there won’t be anyone left viewing the banner that is partly responsible for keeping this site a relatively free one!
They can fix it by returning the banner to its previous state (static image at the top of each page) and ditching the frames. Frames are poor design anyway… they also prevent pages from being bookmarked by the less tech savvy  And the fact that you can’t scroll the ad off the top of the page (if you don’t know how to get around it) is a huge annoyance.
HOORAY! Glad I saw this. Thank you for the tip.
Thanks from me too!!!
I was having the same issue!
Thank you! That was the most annoying problem. I hate to manually scroll down. It may be a lazy habit, but wow, so much better!
Thank you from me too! I’m addicted to my scrolly wheel!
BTW is anyone else having performance problems (not just on COTH but web access in general) with IE 7? I feel like I’m back on dial-up! It SUCKS and I haven’t had time to DL firefox yet …
I have, but my computer is older and it is to be expected. Certain sites are very slow… Webshots is one of them. But I hate a lot of the changes such as toolbars/address bar that can’t be moved or changed. I also hate tabs and they are the first thing I turned off. At least I could do that  I much prefer multiple windows. I don’t like Firefox and now IE is trying to be just like it.
