Internship Question

Hi all!
I’m considering taking a two month internship position this summer. Position would include riding, handling young horses, minimal barn chores, some teaching, traveling to shows, showing, assisting vet/farrier while they’re there, etc. Facility is a beautiful, close knit barn with 12 horses. I was asked to name my price for weekly stipend, but I’m unsure of what an appropriate ask would be in the Buffalo, NY area. Would love some pointers, thanks!

Here are some questions to ask yourself:

Is there housing?
Do you need your car or is there one offered?
If there is house, are utilities paid for?
Who is paying for the show fees?
I never taught, so I would not speak on that.
How many hours are you being asked to work.

I am all for getting dirty and doing an intership/working student postion and this summer gig sounds like a nice opportunity.

Ask yourself this; What are YOUR expenses: (no need to share here)
food
car insurance/gas
phone
health insurance (are you still under your parents)
and of course odds and ends like entertainment,
other monthly responsibilies.
savings

with all of my grooming/barn managing gigs I have had in the 2+ decades. I was always made sure I had housing and sometimes I had to pay for the power/cable/internet but sometimes I didn’t. My wage depended on what I had to pay above and beyond to have a roof over my head.
