Hi-I have been lurking here for a long time and have really enjoyed this forum. Figure it’s time to come out of hiding and I also have a forum etiquette question.
Intro: I’m am adult ammy. Middle aged. My two mounts are a short, fat fuzzy pony–basically a living Thewell pony cartoon. My personal mount is a super sweet, sane but super green 4 yo OTTB (don’t worry I have a fantastic trainer with lots of experience in TBs). My favorite cocktails are a Manhattan (when it’s cold out) and a margarita (on the rocks, with salt) when it’s hot. I love XC, get stressed by stadium (a holdover from my hunter days, ick), and am very good at riding 20m ovals while whining in dressage (why is it so haarrrddd???)
Pony and I were targeting his first intro level event this month but he came up lame. Clearly we are experts that y’all should listen to.
Seriously, though, I’ve learned a lot from this forum. For example, I took my OTTB to a Cowboy obstacle course clinic after reading about another COTH’er doing it on here! It was super fun.
My quick question: is this an ok place to post when I’m proud of something one of my ponies did? TIA!
OF COURSE! Let’s hear it!
Only if pictures of the Thelwell are posted alongside (just kidding, share away)
He is so cute! Great job on the clinic
OMG that eye! I want to squeeze him!
SAME!!!
omg what a great eye. I found out years ago that the eye is the window of the soul per my father. I did not know that was how I chose animals and people.
What at a great pony you have.
That is one cute pony. Welcome!
What a cute (and very good for braving the water so well) pony!
I don’t think anyone here considers posting about proud moments with your beasties as “bragging”. It’s called “sharing” the good times with people who understand how great those moments are.
Welcome!
You included pics with your share, so perfect observation of etiquette! Adorable pony, and congrats on what sounds like a great clinic!
So, proper COTH etiquette = whenever possible, include pony pictures. Got it! I’ve found my people!
You should also check out the Pony-Owning Adult Support Group on Facebook–because you can’t have too many outlets for sharing pony pictures!
He is Totes Adorbs! Love his little face and those enormous eyes!
I’m going to tell you that is no small accomplishment. My big Holsteiner cannot even walk thru a puddle at the barn without trying to jump it.
