hey there! I have been browsing the irideon website and was thinking of putting in a order, has any one tried this brand? Thoughts?!
I LOVE their shirts! I show in the Irideon short sleeve jerseys, and I have a couple of their Chinchilla shirts for Winter riding. I tried their breeches, and the fit wasnāt right for me - a friend of mine who wears their shirts too said the same thing about the breeches. I canāt really say WHAT was wrong -the length was good, the rise was medium (which I like), they just werenāt - comfortable?

The breeches are meh. For the price they arenāt worth it and Iām not crazy about the fit. I have their wind pro winter breeches in addition to some other pair and theyāre not nearly as warm as Kerrits wind pro. Iāve never tried their tops. If you can try and return, then you donāt have much to lose.
**Slightly off topic question - how do you pronounce Irideon? Iāve always wondered.

Thanks so much! I was looking at the Chinchilla shirts specifically! Alberta winters are really cold!
They are super soft - not sure if they will be warm enough for an Alberta Winter! For me, they are great for about 40 degrees - with a vest. But they are super soft and comfortable.
I have a couple of the Cadence breeches. For me, they are too high waisted. I also donāt love the bulkiness of the lower leg because they are full length down to my ankle and the full seat goes all the way down. That said, I find myself wearing them fairly frequently in the winter time. My jacket covers the waist so thatās not an issue. Thereās something about their compression fabric that is super comfy but somehow not restricting. They also are forgiving enough to wear over another layer for warmth. So while I would change some things, I still like and wear them.

I have some Cadence breeches and I have has the opposite experience. The rise is rather low, they are not full length, and are very thin stretchy material at the ends. They are comfy, but not warm enough for the winter. Maybe I bought a different version?
I have a couple pairs of their bootcut breeches. I do like the cut because they are made for ladies with ājunk in the trunk.ā Most brands of breeches I have tried end up way too low in the back and too high in the front due to my build, and these breeches definitely do not do that!
They do tend to run small, so I would suggest ordering a size up from what you normally wear.
Theirs are my favorite breeches ever. Iām a big lady, and they fit really well. Their microcords are my favorite, both in the fullseat (those are my show breeches) and the bootcuts which are my everyday go-tos. I prefer their show shirts to the very similar Kerrits Ice Fils because they seem to be a little it longer in the cut. Love!
I think it may be I ride on! I never thought of that until you asked.

Iāve always heard it pronounced i rid eeon (all vowels soft except the e).

Love the windproof fleece winter breeches. I wear them all winter long, under the Carharrt bibs for chores, under jeans, cross country skiing or around the house.
They act as a sort of supercharged long johns, under the jeans. It really works well if itās windy.
I am more apple shaped than pear, though I am not far above my ideal weight (eg, if I lost 20 pounds I would be alarmingly Too Thin). I have gut issues, and when things go wrong my abdomen swells. The breeches work well when this happens, forgiving of my increased waist/belly. I also have a pair of Kerrits fleece windblock winter breeches, they are OK but donāt fit my shape as well, I prefer the feel of the Irideon cut.
I say āear-rid-eonā but the BO says āeye-ride-on.ā
Iāve ridden in Irideon for a long time, and as a plus size rider I think they have the best sizing, close to āreal world.ā Noble and Kerrits both seem to be snug. I got a couple of pairs of full seat Cadence for a friend to take off to college and she loves them.
The Cadence full seat breeches are my favorite because they have a very stretchy waist which suits me well because I have a waist/hip ratio a lot like Sponge Bob. I had several pairs that lasted for years until the inside of the full seat wore out and they werenāt as stretchy. I keep one old pair in the car just in case I get called to the barn for an emergency. Iāve also been wearing Wind Pro full seats since they came out. Not as stretchy but I ride down to about 15 degrees and they do the trick. If itās really cold they have some long johns that fit just as well.
They changed Cadence and Wind Pros to have a sock-type bottom but didnāt make that apparent to dealers or customers when they did it. I donāt need high boots or chaps because I use wrapped leathers and they donāt pinch, so I prefer the regular cut. Iām stuck with a pair of new style Cadence so I guess Iāll have to get my boots repaired. The Cadence is now available in both styles. I was able to track down old-style Wind Pros last month after calling a bunch of online tack shops.
The Chinchillah head band is lightweight and fits under my helmet, but keeps my ears warm without a lot of bulk. I also have a bunch of Ice Fil shirts with short and long sleeves. Very comfortable in the summer and make a good underlayer in the spring and fall.
I keep an eye out for a sale at Adams Horse Supply. She keeps the popular sizes in stock but will order anything for drop shipment from Irideon, which is included on the website. Great customer service, and I like having availability of the full product line.
I loved Irideon Cadence Full Seat Breeches and Wind Pro. Iām about 5ā6" with long legs. Needed Long length for the inseam. Loved the stretchy feel, sort of like the Isotoner of breeches. However the long lengths are discontinued and impossible to find! Also, they went ahead and replaced the lower calf sections of the breeches with some sort of fabricā¦sloppy fit under tall boots. IMO, the company lost loyal customers.
Merry, there are now 2 versions of the Cadence, and I think the original is called āclassic.ā The owner of Adams told me that Irideon is one of those companies that makes a change in a product but not the name and sends it out to vendors without letting them know in advance. Kind of stupid, because you do lose loyal customers if they canāt get what they want.
When I was looking for an original style Wind Pro I did a lot of Googling. I found what I was looking for at the Cheshire Horse in New Hampshire and called them. She checked while I was on the phone and confirmed she had them. Sent them the same day. Well worth the search.
