Just saw on their website that the International Riding Academy on Hilton Head Island will be closing after the 2016 school year. Anyone know why? Enrollment? Curious for professional reasons- feel free to PM if necessary.
Maybe the school is closing but perhaps the barn will stay open, it is lovely.
That it is, InTheAir! I’m imagining it might go back to a private facility- I think it was a “regular” boarding barn prior to the school program using it? Its an interesting set up- the riding school was its own entity with the students attending a local private school for academics. So it sounds like its just the riding part that is ceasing to operate.
It was a regular boarding barn previously and as far as I know it’s not closing. The new barn is LOVELY and the trail barn operation makes enough money to support it for a long time. I’m from Hilton Head and used to board there before they built the new barn. I still know a lot of people there and I’ll see what I can find out. I feel out of the loop since I moved away in 2009 and 3/4 of the way across the country in 2011.

I couldn’t get a straight answer as to why the academy was closing but the boarding/training operation will stay open
