I haven’t been to a HT in years, and back when I went, I never heard of a requirement to have your own pinny holder for paper pinny’s.
Ok, so obviously I’m out of it. I saw it on the dover catalogue for $11. I need one by the weekend, is it something I can jerry rig?
Every other bit of equipement and tack I own is jerry-rigged, so it would fit right in.
If my horse had an eventing color it would be “duct-tape” silver.
Could I use duct tape, instead of buying one more thing? thanks.
I’ve seen people who forgot their pinny holder just duck tape their number to the front and back of their vest… I guess you could go that route if you don’t mind the possibility of sticky residue left over on your vest.
Do you know anyone else who will be at the show? If you do, I would just ask to borrow a pinny holder. Also, most HTs I’ve been to in the past two years have had a handful of pinny holders for sale (usually $20) at the office. So you might inquire with the secretary about buying one at the event.
Buy these (Staples, officemax, etc) http://empoweringlittlelearners.blogspot.com/2011/07/many-uses-of-sheet-protectors.html. Punch extra holes in bottom corners using a hole punch. Slide number in (one front, one back). Use yarn or string to tie around yourself at top and bottom, threading through the holes. Or, if you want to be really fancy, buy two of these http://www.amazon.com/TYR-Race-Belt-Black/dp/B000F9LC1M/ref=sr_1_7?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1397165867&sr=1-7&keywords=race+number+belt and use them top and bottom (you can get them at your local running store, dick’s sporting goods type store or rei/ems type store).
This is only applicable if you don’t want to get tape on your vest, otherwise that works fine
same here!! I HATE the new pinny holders. They don’t conform to the body and look awkward looking as a whole.
I’ve been trying to figure out how I’m going to design myself a cool pinny holder that looks super duper with my vest. lol.
Honestly…I’d rather have the plastic holder and have velcro on my vest–so I can put the plastic on and take the plastic off.
buy one of these and then rig it with the paper protector for the number…
In fact if you having a sewing machine it would be cool just to wiggle up your own.
Fit it to yourself with elastic on the sides so you don’t have to tie anything.
Just an easy slip on and off.
