Is anyone here a saddle serial # guru?

I recently purchased a Pessoa and Barnsby for lesson saddles and have no idea what models they are and I am not getting a response back from my emails to either company reps.

Pessoa # 88125596. Its a 16.5 wide tree… but I don’t know if its a Stadium or something else. I think its a Stadium

Barnsby #0815. . Nothing else stamped except the normal CB, Made in England, Spring Tree. I’m wondering if it was an old custom BC its black, but not quite dressage flaps, even though its got big rolls front and back, but not quite AP

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hi City Ponies,

I am a Barnsby Rep. Is there any other marking on the saddle? I would be more than happy to find out more information for you.

The 0815 could indicate the model. It depends on the location. Take a picture of the number and markings and the complete saddle and email me at ann@thesaddlefits.com and I will find out for you.

You’re awesome! Those generic email addresses for the company can be lost in the bunch so easy. I’m hoping someone can help me on the Pessoa. I know since its 8 digits it was made in England but that’s all I’m familiar with.

8 digits on the Pessoa does not necessarily mean English made - the Argentine saddles still have a serial that length.

Are the billet guards on the saddle? If so, the 6 digit number there is what you want for ID. Alternatively, email Pessoa USA - they are generally pretty quick in returning emails and are willing to look at photos to help determine the model if necessary.

I know this post was two years ago, but your Barnsby saddle you just described sounds identical to mine, and I can’t find a single piece of information about it, so would you mind sharing what you found out?
