Is it possible to change your user name?

I picked mine when I brought my old horse home for the first time and had a ton of dumb questions. Prior to that I just lurked with no profile. I couldn’t think of a name so just scrambled my husbands nickname and now it drives me crazy. Are we able to change them or are we stuck?

You can if you sign in again with a different email.
Then you become a new poster with a new name.
If you want to go back to your old email, I think you then can change that back in your new poster profile.

Some that do that for the first few posts add at the bottom, “former such and such poster”.

That is also what some do that want to change how they post to a different flavor of poster, or have been banned and can’t stay away.

Yes, I’ve seen the alters etc… I was hoping to avoid that label!

Maybe I’ll just have to suck up the dumb user name.

Email the Moderator, and ask them.

Since we will be changing to a new platform, maybe this is a good time to change a name you don’t like?

I asked the Moderator and to start a new Id with a different email was suggested.

Yeah, you totally can. PM or email the moderator

WHAT ?? Are they changing everything again?? Just like Wal Mart. Once you get it sorted out they go and change it all again.

Yes and it will be a big change, for what we are being told, to a much better platform, where posters can really customize to what they want.
Even the ignore tab can be set for a day, week, forever and you can still peek at ignored posts anonymously if you can’t stand to miss something.

Here is more on it:

One big reason for the change, the current platform is too unstable, keeps getting glitches, as soon as they fix one, another springs up.
Rather than keep putting money and time on this one and still not able to keep it running well, they decided to just go with a new, better one.

Yeah, everyone is worried how the change will work, but generally, after a few days, any change was anticipated with worry, then quickly adjusted and the old forgotten.
Maybe that will be true this time also.

A bit like buying a new horse and then warily trying it out, hope is all you expected.
