Is ranch sorting catching on in the Mid West and East like it is out West?

It’s the most fun thing I have done in a long time on a horse. So addicting. I gave up riding h/j 's and am now doing it full time.

I a starting to learn team penning too but the sorting is more my speed.

I have an older mare that is teaching me so much.

Just was curious if I move back to VA someday… when my honey returns from his Army craziness in Europe/Africa… if I will be able find any places to sort back there.

For now though loving it in San Diego… events every weekend here.

I love working cattle. I live in Central Illinois, used to have a place to go to practice, but lately, have been doing shows instead.

Heard of another place that may be doing practices late Spring, so hoping that ends up happening.

It really is fun, tho I enjoy just going in pushing some around, then cutting one off and pushing that lone one awhile. I like doing stuff slow and mostly just letting my horse have fun.

I have team sorted, but ends up being so fast, I find myself jerking too much, so not sure I would ever actually “compete”. Tho, penning could be fun, just never done that before, so if ever had the chance, I would try it.
