Our 13 year old Newfoundland has his ear problem under control. Unfortunately, perhaps due to meds, or to age, he started vomiting up his food. We switched him to very bland food for a few days, then back to regular dog food. He’s not vomiting up his food any more, but he is vomiting clear liquid several times a day. Sometimes that indicates liver problems, so he went back to the vet. Blood work came back just fine. Vet put him on Prescription Diet w/d, which is low fat, diabetic, and gastrointestinal according to the label. Water, eggs, corn, chicken and barley are the first few ingredients on the can. The dog loves it, but it’s $2 a can, and he eats four cans a day. Is there a cheaper version of the same food?
If the vomiting keeps up, vet will get a sample of the barf to analyze.
