Is there a definitive source for decoding CWDs?

I really think PA just means that the panel configuration is what follow, kind of in the same way Devoucoux uses PX. jn4jenny mentioned in another thread that Bertrand from CWD told her PA = panel designation. Also, even PL saddles are stamped PA, which would suggest it’s not a pommel configuration. The only ones I’ve ever seen not stamped PA are older ones.

Perhaps the RT+ or the original custom thinning under the stirrup bar accommodated your need for clearance through the wither width-wise?

The first one I listed the codes for does not have a PA stamp. Just a PL. And it’s a 2014.

In case anyone is wondering, I tried that saddle and while the balance, seat, and flaps were wonderful, it is too narrow and pinches my horse’s tall withers. It would word great on a narrow horse with less of a wither. Just a dream to ride in.

I’m going to have to get one made for my horse. Oh, darn.

The 2Gs tree is a little wider…just sayin’

Honestly your best bet is to ask a rep. I just had a saddle made, what a freaking headache but that aside, it’s not even stamped AO for a wide tree. And it is wide. There’s some sort of disconnect between the reps and the manufacturing process that CWD needs to get a handle on.[/QUOTE]

I am convinced this is a big part of the confusion. What a rep tells you you’re getting and what gets communicated to the people who make the saddle and what actually gets made often seems to have major or minor disconnects.
